In the massively popular battle royale game Apex Legends, one Twitch streamer sets a new record by earning 200,000 kills with a single character.
Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment’s foray into the battle royale genre, has had its ups and downs since its surprise release in 2019. There’s no denying how much the game has grown and how many players have been drawn in since its release. Some of this expansion is due to events and new characters that are regularly added to Apex Legends, but some of it is due solely to the player base.
Apex Legends has a large following of players and streamers, which helps to ensure its future. In that vein, one streamer has managed to set a new record and raise the bar for players by becoming the first to reach 200, 000 kills on a single character.
Abusing r2, a Twitch streamer, celebrates with his community after crossing this milestone live on stream. The fact that this is done with Mirage, a legend that many don’t believe is competitively viable at higher tiers of play, is perhaps most intriguing.
That didn’t stop abusing r2 from getting their last kill and crossing the finish line on Storm Point with a RE-45 and a finisher. This final kill was made possible by someone allowing abusing r2 to get the kill, but that in no way diminishes the achievement.
Of course, abusing r2 had a long journey ahead of him, with other impressive achievements such as a total of over 47 million damage and 240,000 headshots with Mirage. The Mirage main had to put in a lot of effort, and he shared and thanked his community for it. This is far from the game’s first player-based achievement, and it isn’t likely to be the last.
