After changing her emote prefix to a dirty word that she believed the streaming service wouldn’t permit, Twitch streamer Stormfall33 gained popularity.
Twitch is renowned for being quite strict when it comes to the use of obscenities and another derogatory language on the streaming platform, but occasionally mistakes are made.
A Twitch streamer named Stormfall33 experienced one of these flaws after typing a coarse word while looking for a new emote prefix, and as a result, went viral. On August 4, live, the 24-year-old broadcaster was looking for a quick but effective.
Stormfall was looking for a short but elegant emote prefix that won’t be too challenging to type out quickly to access emotes live on August 4. Then a viewer advised her to use a brief word that she thought wouldn’t be accepted by Twitch. Twitch would not allow the word, according to Stormfall, but after typing it in and pressing Update, it did work.
The streamer screamed in shock. Immediately after her stream, a video of her meltdown went viral, garnering over 300,000 views in a single day. The genuine shock that Twitch would allow the word after there were no consequences for using it was priceless.
