After being challenged by YouTuber Jeremy “TheQuartering” Hambly, Imane “Pokimane” Anys may find herself embroiled in yet another legal battle.
Pokimane appeared to be in the middle of a legal battle with fellow Twitch streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins not long ago, after she was accused of “spreading lies” about him following the drama with YouTuber “JiDion.” However, things appear to have calmed down since then, particularly on Ninja’s end, which is probably a huge relief for Pokimane.
Pokimane appeared to be on the mend, but controversial YouTuber TheQuartering has announced that he intends to take her to court.
TheQuartering took to Twitter on January 31st to advise Pokimane to “get your team under control if you don’t want to spend some time in court with me,” without providing any additional context. He later shared a screenshot of an email he apparently received from Pokimane’s legal team, in which he was told to “immediately remove” her content from his videos.
TheQuartering, on the other hand, was clearly not content to sit quietly and took to YouTube to explain why he had ‘been forced to take Pokimane to court.’ He claimed in the video that his videos are legal and accused Corsearch, the company that sent the email, of “bullying” other content creators.
TheQuartering has yet to receive a response from Pokimane. TheQuatering, on the other hand, has been outspoken in his criticism of Pokimane in his video on the subject. Corsearch’s email appeared to refer to two of Pokimane’s videos in particular, where he appeared to have included his content.
Pokimane announced that her contract with Twitch had come to an end, so her focus was clearly elsewhere when TheQuatering made the claims. However, whether or not the two will engage in a legal battle remains to be seen.
