Wardell is a professional CS:GO player who has been part of the pro-scene since 2015, although he only really got noticed after he started streaming in 2019 But, his big break came when he and a few other streamers banded together to form their own team called ‘Orgless’ which went on to place fifth in the Flashpoint Season 1 CS:GO league. Since then, he has established himself thanks to his fps and team skills, and personality. Since April 2020, he has mainly been focusing on streaming, but he is still committed to maintaining his fps skills.

Although Wardell’s gaming setup has obviously been sponsored by Logitech, it is safe to say that he believes in the brand, as he would not be willing to risk his performance on poor products. We have therefore provided a brief summary of the key features of his peripherals below, for your interest.

WHAT MONITOR DOES WARDELL USE?

Wardell uses a BenQ ZOWIE XL2546 monitor. The XL2546 is a 24.5″ high-end gaming monitor that provides a maximum 240Hz refresh rate at a 1ms (grey-to-grey response time. This, as well as its other useful features, were integrated into it, as it was designed with fps gamers and pro-players in mind. Its other refresh rate options include 60,120 and 144Hz. That’s why, in addition to its 240Hz refresh rate, it also integrates Proprietary Dynamic Accuracy Technology (DyAc) to prevent blurriness and its Black eQualizer that brightens darker scenes to enable you to spot lurking enemies and useful environmental factors more easily. However, one of its biggest features is its S-Switch that allows players to navigate the menu, save up to three onboard custom display profiles, and change monitor settings in an instant with the press of a button.

In order to further assist with concentration, it also comes with two removable side shields that can help to block out peripheral distractions from the user’s view. It is specifically designed for compatibility with Windows 7 or later, but it is also compatible with Mac, Xbox One and PS devices. This is due to its technologies requiring NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980; or better; AMD Radeon RX 480 or better GPUs in order to function optimally. Furthermore, its stand offers tilting, swiveling, pivoting and height adjustment options. It can also be dismounted for VESA-compatible wall-mounting purposes.

WHAT MOUSE DOES WARDELL USE?

Logitech PRO X Superlight mouse

Wardell uses a Logitech G Pro X Superlight mouse. The Logitech G PRO X Superlight is Logitech’s ultra-lightweight entry to the gaming mouse market. In order for it to reach its 63g (2.2oz) weight, the designers have chosen to use a lightweight plastic chassis, omit the lighting, and only feature five programmable button. However, despite the lack of a dedicated DPI button, the user can still allocate this function to one of the other buttons. Its Hero 25K optical sensor provides a range of 100-25,400 DPI, with the possibility of storing up to 5 profiles on the mouse. The settings can be made in increments of 50.

Additionally, the polling rate can be toggled on the mouse between options of 125, 250, 500 and 1000Hz. It is capable of a maximum acceleration of 40G at a maximum tracking speed of 400 IPS. It can be used both as a wireless and wired mouse, with its battery having a lifespan of up to 70 hours. Its buttons are places to favor right-handed users and it measures 12.5 x 6.35 x 4cm (4.92 x 2.5 x 1.57″). It also features 100% PTFE feet that serve to improve its tracking speed and smoothness.

WHAT MOUSEPAD DOES WARDELL USE?

Wardell uses a Logitech G640 mousepad. The Logitech G640 is a large-sized gaming mousepad that comes to 40 x 0.3 x 46cm (15.75 x 0.12 x 18.11″.) It has a cloth surface that offers moderate surface friction. This helps with low DPI settings, as it gives you more control when you are preforming rapid start and stop movements. It is bonded to its textured rubber base. This base has a dual function of preventing the mousepad from moving during use, while also providing soft comfort to the user’s wrist while they are moving their mouse It is also flexible enough to be easily rolled up for storage while Wardell is on the go.

WHAT KEYBOARD DOES WARDELL USE?

Logitech G Pro keyboard

Wardell uses a Logitech G Pro keyboard. Wardell’s gaming setup includes the Logitech G Pro wired gaming keyboard. It has a tenkeyless form factor. It is constructed from plastic with a steel backplate and is soldered with GX Blue switches that are then topped with removable ABS keycaps. The switches actuate at 2mm with a force of 50G and have a total travel distance of 3.7mm. It has a 1,000Hz polling rate at a 1ms response time.

The 12 f-keys can be set with macro profiles through the Logitech G HUB software, as can the per-key LIGHTSUNC RGB lighting. Additionally, there are existing macro profiles for over 580 games available on through the software, so you will not necessarily nee to set your own bindings from scratch. Its base offers 30-angle adjustment and rubber feet to improve the user’s comfort and to prevent it from slipping during gameplays. It measures 3.4 x 36.1 x 15.3cm (14.96 x 1.97 x 6.3”) and has a 1.8m (5.9ft.) detachable, braided cable.

WHAT HEADSET DOES WARDELL USE?

Logitech G Pro X

Wardell uses a Logitech G Pro X headset. Wardell’s gaming setup includes the wired, Next-Gen 7.1 Surround Sound version of the Logitech G Pro X headset. Their closed-backed earcups have 50mm hybrid mesh PRO-G drivers that provide a 20 – 20,000Hz frequency response range at a nominal impedance of 32Ω and a sensitivity of 107dB. The earcups have an over-ear fit and come with the option of two sets of earpads, namely a leatherette-covered memory foam set and a microsuede pair. The headband is constructed from TR90 nylon with stainless steel slides and glass fiber reinforced nylon joints. It is also padded. What really distinguishes it from the original Logitech G Pro headset is that it is integrated with Blue VO!CE technology. This provides real-time voice filters that reduce noise and makes your voice sound clearer and more professional.

Its electret condenser microphone is detachable and features a cardioid polar pattern. This gives it a noise-cancelling effect. It offers a 100-10,000Hz frequency response range. But Wardell does not make use of it, as he has opted for a dedicated microphone instead. It has dimensions of 17.2 x 8.17 x 18.2cm (5.43 x 3.70 x 7.68″,) weighs 259g (0.82lbs,) and is compatible with Windows 7 or later PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, VR and Mac devices. However, its Blue VO!CE technology is only compatible with Windows devices.

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES WARDELL USE?

Wardell uses a Shure SM7B microphone. The Shure SM7B is among the most popular microphones found in gaming setups, and appear in those of Greekgodx, iiTzTimmy and Diegsaurs, among others. It is a dynamic microphone built from sturdy enamel aluminum and a steel case so as to protect its cartridge. Its cardioid polar pattern has a noise-cancelling effect, as it focuses on inputs from its end-address while sounds from the side and back will hardly register at all, especially if they are far from the device. It offers a frequency response range of 50 – 20,000Hz, a sensitivity of -59dBV/Pa, a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) 33dB and a nominal impedance 150Ω. This makes it ideal for capturing vocal and bass sounds.

It is also integrated with an internal pop-filter to stifle plosive sound and an internal air-suspension shock and vibration isolator to guard against interference caused by bumps and other pressure sounds. Its external windshield provides further protection from unwanted auditory inputs. Furthermore, there are two switches at its base. The first is a presence boost button that can turn off the presence boost to produce a flat-response curve, and as high press-filter. It is powered with an XLR connector, but does not require phantom power.

WHAT WEBCAM DOES WARDELL USE?

Wardell uses a Sony Alpha a6000 camera. The Sony Alpha a6000 is a mirrorless camera that is integrated with a 24.3MP APS-C-sized Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor. This sensor offers an 100-25,600 ISO range and is capable of recording movies at resolutions of 1080p at either a 60p or 50p-format. It can take 4K still images at 11fps. It features a built-in electronic viewfinder as well as hybrid autofocus with 179-point focal plane phase-detection and 25 contrast detect points. This helps to ensure that the images remain clear even during fast-paced recordings. It also has a tilt-able LCD display screen to assist with camera positioning and to counter glare. It also many other features besides.

It should be noted that this is a semi-professional camera and not a webcam, so many of its features are likely beyond the need of a making stream setup. So, if you are on a budget, you might want to consider sticking with a more basic webcam such as the Razer Kiyo Pro that is used by FaZeBlaze or the Logitech BRIO used by xChocoBars.

WHAT MIXER DOES WARDELL USE?

TC-Helicon GoXLR mixer

Wardell uses a TC Helicon GoXLR mixer. The TC Helicon GoXLR is a mixer designed for solo recordings. It can input one headphone jack and one microphone that utilizes either a TS/TRS/TRRS jack or XLR connector. There is no USB port. In addition to a Mic, channel, it also offers dedicated channel for Chat, Music and System controls, with each channel having its own volume slider and mute button. This takes up the left half of the device.

The right side is mainly for effects, such as gender-bender and reverb, but it also offers a much wider variety on its software. These can be programmed directly onto the device. The lower part of the right section is then split into two parts. The Left corner comprises of a voice sampler that can be programmed with on-the-fly effects, while the right side is for on-the-fly damage control in the form of a mute button and bleep button. There are also programmable RGB lighting options that can be customized fully.
