Popular Twitch streamer xQc recently came under fire for consistently using the VTuber tag in his streams. However, he explained why the community is exaggerating the problem during a recent stream.
VTubers is a group of content creators who is known for using a virtually generated avatars while streaming. A group of VTubers recently called out streamers for abusing the VTuber tag. Despite not using an avatar while using the said tag, xQc defended his position.
He was clearly uninterested in hearing criticism about his decision to use the VTuber tag, citing Twitch’s notoriously lax tag and category enforcement.
xQc went on to explain saying that he believe himself to be VTuber. xQc has continued to tag his stream with the VTuber tag since making this response, and he has no plans to stop anytime soon. xQc’s decision has been criticized in light of his statement and he is staunch on his position.
