Cloud9, the top-ranked Halo Infinite team, is making a major roster change, according to sources, with Jonathan ‘Renegade’ Willette set to leave just weeks after the team’s second-place finish at the HCS Kansas City Major.
Cloud9 won the trophy in Raleigh, kicking off their Halo Infinite 2022 season in style, before losing in the grand final in Kansas City to a resurgent Sentinels team.
While competing for North American supremacy against teams like Sentinels and OpTic Gaming, Cloud9 may be in for some major changes, as internal strife has brought the players to their breaking point.
2018 world champion Jonathan ‘Renegade’ Willette is looking for new pastures with another top NA team. Cloud9 is in talks to bring FaZe Clan‘s Adam ‘Bound’ Gray into the fold, though nothing is set in stone and no buyouts have been agreed upon.
Bound is still a newcomer to Halo esports, with HCS Raleigh being his first major LAN tournament since beginning to compete in Halo 5.
Eric ‘Snip3down‘ Wrona admitted he wants to split his time between Halo and Apex Legends, saying he’s “not happy at all” with the state of Halo Infinite.
