A devoted Twitch streamer who had been streaming for eight months to a small audience suddenly found himself with thousands of viewers, and to celebrate, he invited his mother onstream.
Frankiep423, a Twitch streamer who began doing so about a year ago, had difficulty breaking into the competitive scene, with most of his streams receiving only 50 or so total views. He persisted nonetheless, broadcasting a mix of Atomic Heart and Overwatch. His TikTok video went viral, which attracted new viewers to his stream and helped him surpass 100 viewers for the first time ever. This was his big break.
Frankiep423 got his mother onto the live to greet the new viewers after watching his viewer count increase in real-time. “Forty viewers? Wait, are we at forty? Don’t lie. They finally put faith in the kid. This is my wonderful mother.”
The introduction, though, had to end because Frankie was attacked during an Overwatch 2 play. The video rapidly went viral on Twitter, inspiring a growing number of people to support the fledgling Twitch streamer. Frankie got 1.5k views at the end of his most recent stream. That’s a significant gain from the less than 60 watchers on his previous stream.
Many viewers praised the footage for being very healthy and humorous and claimed that Twitch needs more of this type of content.
