Everyone said Pokémon Legends: Arceus reminded them of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild from the moment Nintendo announced it. The vast open world, cel-shaded graphics, and even stealth moves all seem to harken back to Link’s quest to save Hyrule and Princess Zelda. When Twitch Streamer Pokimane said Pokémon Legends: Arceus Pokédex and story (or lack thereof) makes her “think of Breath of the Wild,” it became tiresome for gamers to hear.

Pokimane, 25, reacted to a Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer during one of her Twitch streams. Pokimane was already influenced by The Legend of Zelda before Turtwig, Shinx, and other Pokémon characters even left the screen.

Pokimane has a history of being a lightning rod for controversy and outrage. However, she seemed to prefer Link fighting Guardians in Breath of the Wild when it came to Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Nintendo packed Pokémon Legends: Arceus with dozens of Pokémon ranging from Uxie to Cherrim, but Pokimane prioritize quality over quantity. She compared the graphics in the two games and decided that Breath of the Wild was superior to Pokémon Legends: Arceus once more.

Pokimane was not impressed by the textures or pixels in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. She adamantly desires that the Pokémon series depart from the ‘Catch ’em all’ concept in order to provide players with a fresh experience.

Despite this, she remains a fan of the show. On the official Pokimane Twitter, she has even done cosplays as a Pokémon trainer. Pokémon has appeared in a wide range of games, from Super Smash Bros. to arena fighting games, and she is eager for the franchise to expand further.

Despite her criticisms of Pokémon Legends: Arceus and its resemblance to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Pokimane clarifies that she does not consider the game to be a bad one.

Fans can decide whether it’s too similar to Link’s quest to defeat Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or not when Pokémon Legends: Arceus is released on January 28, 2022.
