Hasan and NICKMERCS are no longer friends after Hasan made a remark to Dr Disrespect during the Pride Month incident, according to NICKMERCS, who claims that Hasan is “dead to him.”
NICKMERCS, one of the most well-known streamers on Twitch, has recently made news, but not for the normal shooter games or battle royales he usually plays. After tweeting in reaction to a Pride Month protest, the streamer found himself at the center of a dispute. He received harsh criticism on social media for saying “They should leave little children alone,” and Call of Duty deleted his operator bundle. Due to the contentious nature of the matter, some people have criticized the well-known content producer while others, including TimTheTatman and Dr Disrespect, have openly expressed their support for their close buddy.
With NICKMERCS severing his relationship with fellow streamer HasanAbi over a remark the latter made to DrDisrespect as the story was escalating, the topic is now moving in a new direction. In solidarity with NICKMERCS, DrDisrespect uninstalled the game after Call of Duty removed the NICKMERCS bundle. Hasan, however, did not agree with this decision and stated in response, “He’s more loyal to NICKMERCS’ having his skin [in the store] than his own wife.”
Now NICKMERCS has retaliated, stating in his return stream that Hasan is “dead to him” and defending DrDisrespect. According to NICKMERCS, he privately messaged Hasan to let him know he would be breaking up his relationship with the streamer. “Have your opinions; we can agree to disagree, you can say the things you want to say of course,” NICKMERCS explained. “But it’s the guy’s anniversary, and you’re saying s*** like that?”
NICKMERCS received a lot of support in his chat for the decision. Fans praised the streamer for not letting Hasan’s comment fly, with one commenting “[Hasan] needs to be canceled [to be honest]”. Others weren’t as taken aback by the incident and even questioned the drama’s veracity.
For the time being, it appears NICKMERCS is unperturbed, indicating that he is untouched by the demise of his friendship with Hasan. NICKMERCS interrupted the streamer, “I know he’s not going to lose any sleep over our relationship or anything man, I’m not either.”
