The streamer Kyootbot, who is well-known for her “speed dating” streams, has been suspended by Twitch. According to Kyootbot, she was expelled because of her garb.
In 2021, Kyootbot experienced a sharp increase in popularity on Twitch, largely as a result of her innovative content format, in which she invites viewers to call her up and try to woo her with their charm or skills.
These streams have received some criticism, but Kyootbot, real name Kiana, has found great success with them. In November, her average viewers increased to over 3,000, and in June, they reached an all-time high of 5,500.
However, that development has been temporarily halted as a result of the platform’s ban on her channel on July 11th. After being banned, Kyootbot commented on a YouTube stream, claiming that the reason was “just attire sh*t.”
According to Twitch’s dress code policy, clothing must be appropriate for the type of stream being watched. For example, beach or workout streams are exempt. Viewers had conjectured that the lack of chat moderation was the real reason for the ban. The moderation of a channel’s chat is the responsibility of the channel owner, and failure to do so may result in a temporary suspension. Kyootbot, however, asserted that it was merely a problem with her attire.
In order to protect users’ privacy, Twitch does not address violations of community rules. It only has a 24-hour suspension because this is her first suspension. A 30-day suspension is possible for more serious offenses, while an indefinite suspension is possible for persistent offenses.
One day after receiving her Twitch ban, Kiana has already started streaming on YouTube. Kyootbot had over 360,000 followers and about 2,000 active subscribers at the time of her ban.
