According to Clara Sorrenti AKA Keffals, she was banned because a thumbnail of the insults she received showed transphobia.
A trans streamer Keffals recently claims that she was banned from Twitch for 28 days for attempting to show examples of abuse directed at marginalized creators.
Sorrenti planned to stream about the abuse and compile a list of the “homophobic and transphobic slurs” she has encountered over the years. However, Sorrenti tweeted shortly before the stream that she had been suspended from Twitch and the reason was ostensible because she had included a thumbnail image of the disputed list, which technically broke Twitch’s slur usage policies.
Keffals streamed on YouTube instead and contested the ban, but yesterday announced that Twitch had rejected her appeal, and tweeted in the aftermath of the decision and said that she understood, but added that it runs counter to the goals of the platform to disempower marginalized people from speaking up against the abuse they receive for being prominent on that platform.
