Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is nearing the end of his career, but he is still an important part of the first team.
The 34-year-old defender is a leader on the field and in the locker room, and his experience and knowledge of the game are invaluable. While he may still have a year or two left on the field, Pique has made no secret of his desire to become Barcelona’s president, and he revealed in a recent interview on Ibai’s Twitch channel that he has no desire to coach, while also stating that the way Spanish clubs are run needs to change.
Pique also talked about Erling Haaland, Barcelona’s top summer transfer target. The veteran defender believes Haaland will move to Spain in the summer, but he does not believe Haaland and Kylian Mbappe will join the same club.
Pique discussed his relationship with former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos while discussing the situation of Barcelona teammate Ousmane Dembele. When asked if he would consider reuniting with Ramos in the Spanish national team for the World Cup later this year, he said no.
During the interview, Pique also revealed an intriguing transfer tidbit from the past, claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo and Vinicius Junior were on the verge of signing for Barcelona before deciding to join Real Madrid.
