The $100,000 Twitch Rivals tournament, which features American streamer Jeremy “Disguised Toast” and Spanish streamer Alexby11, is still making news. Disguised Toast, the American team captain, reacted to some of the footage and Twitch clips in a recent stream, attempting to debunk accusations made by the opposing team.
Due to several controversies surrounding the Rust tournament, the Twitch Rivals tournament was prematurely suspended on April 16, 2022.
Due to Alexby11’s accusations that the admins were favoring and discriminating against the Spanish and LATAM teams, the 40 versus 40 survival tournament was shortened.
The $100,000 Twitch Rivals was intended to be one of Twitch’s most ambitious events.
Things began to take a dramatic turn, however, when the Spanish side of the competition accused the Rust administrators of favoring the opposition.
The accusations continued into the second and third days, resulting in the 40v40 event being canceled due to a number of contentious issues.
Toast hosted his regular stream after the event ended, during which he planned to handle viewer unban requests and go over some of the footage that had been circulating on social media platforms regarding the Twitch Rivals event.
An out-of-context Twitch clip where Toast received an MP5 from the Rust admin was one of these. After watching the video, the streamer was taken aback. After seeing the tailored clip that had been circulating on Twitter, he expressed his surprise.
The OfflineTV (OTV) member announced the conclusion of the event and stated the final score. While reacting to the doctored clip, Disguised Toast laughed. After a couple of seconds of pause.
Toast then ended the clip and continued for the next 50 minutes with his viewer unban request.
Reddit users shared their theories about the massive influx of clips and footage now circulating on various social media platforms.
The $100,000 Twitch Rivals tournament was won by the North American team. The Kill Leader bonus was given to Team Nemereth TV for accumulating 160 kills over the course of the tournament.
