Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont, a British LEC caster and popular streamer, has spoken out about reports that he may be considering a coaching role in 2022.
This week’s Dot Esports free agency show on Twitch revealed a number of scoops and news, including the possibility of Caedrel taking on a League of Legends coaching position in 2022.
Several organizations in Europe and North America have expressed interest in him, including LEC teams SK Gaming, Team BDS, G2, and Team Vitality, as well as TSM in the LCS.
“I got a lot of offers, and I said no to a lot of offers,” Caedrel said on stream. I’m at a loss for words; it’s been a strange off-season.
I talked to a lot of people, met with a lot of teams, and told a lot of teams no.
“I turned down the NA (North American) teams because I don’t want to move to NA yet, and I’m not ready in my life to do so.” NA had some really interesting offers.
Things in esports are catching fire like wildfires, man. One, two, three people are aware, then six, twelve, fifty-five, one hundred and sixty-five.
The most common rumor is that he will join Vitality. “I didn’t sign with them yet – nothing is confirmed,” Caedrel said.
Caedrel announced on November 18th that he has decided to stay in casting:
Vitality is rumored to be forming a ‘super team’ with players such as Team Liquid’s British top-laner Alphari and Cloud9’s Croatian mid-laner Perkz, as well as Mad Lions Czech ADC Carzzy.
After G2 blocked Perkz from joining Fnatic due to a contract clause, Riot is changing League of Legends esports player transfer rules.
League of Legends is one of the most well-known competitive video games, and fans can wager on esports matches as well (you must be aged 18 and over to gamble). Here you’ll find the best esports betting sites.
Caedrel began his League of Legends career as a mid-laner, then moved to jungle, and finally retired from professional play last year.
He most recently played for Excel Esports in the United Kingdom, where he came close to making the LEC playoffs on several occasions, most notably when Schalke pulled off a miraculous run to beat Excel to the post.
Caedrel could finally break his curse and reach the playoffs with a team in a potential coaching role, according to Team Vitality assistant coach Mephisto.
Almost 14,000 people voted against him being cursed, with a slight majority voting no.
