Twitch streamer and youtube content creator that goes by the name Bafael has been banned from both platforms over a video that was posted three years ago.

Bafael is a streamer on twitch with over 13k followers while having more than 41k subscribers on his youtube channel. In his recent twitter post, he announced bad news for his fans as he revealed that he was issued a ban on both Twitch and YouTube.

According to the streamer, the reason given behind his ban has to do with a video that was posted by him which goes back three years. The video in question is related to a private server for the MMORPG, MapleStory. As these servers have some legal ambiguities to them in terms of their use, this is most likely the reason both websites issued the ban to Bafael.

He wrote; “Can my twitch and youtube really be permanently closed because I had a few vods of me playing a maplestory private server 3+ years ago? I just want to know my hope of fighting this. It seems so punishing considering the financial damage I probably inflicted on nexon. If I lose my youtube I’ll lose half my income.” His tweet has received a lot of responses online as some of them have suggested the user reaches out for some legal advice. While others have simply sent out well-wishes, hoping the streamer can get it sorted.

As of now, Bafael, who is mostly known for streaming fighting games, such as Street Fighter 4, is understandably concerned about the bans, especially given they stand to lose a significant portion of their income. But it is entirely possible that Twitch and YouTube may resolve the issue and unban the streamer.
