Assassin’s Creed Liberation has been removed from Steam “at the publisher’s request,” and it also appears that it won’t be available at all starting in September.
Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD is a remastered version of the PS Vita game that connects to the events of Assassin’s Creed 3 and is the only game in the series to have a black, female protagonist. Although Ubisoft didn’t include it in the list of games it would stop supporting in 2022, the game was released in 2014 and has since been removed from the Steam store.
Typically, if you’ve already paid for a game on the Steam platform and it has since been removed from the store, you can still play it. The store page for Assassin’s Creed Liberation includes an additional note that simply states, “Please note this title will not be accessible following September 1st, 2022,” so it appears that’s not the case with this title.
Assassin’s Creed Liberation is still installable as part of the Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered bundle, but it’s not yet known if this version of the game will remain accessible after September 1.
Liberation is not the most well-liked game in the Assassin’s Creed universe, and numerous online reviews have noted numerous bugs, glitches, and poor HD graphics since the game’s debut.
In other news, Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV’s studio, Midnight Society, founded by the deported Twitch streamer Dr. Disrespect, is developing a AAA “competitive PvPvE first-person shooter.”
