Twitch and YouTube’s streaming platform war usually only catches the public’s attention when a high-profile streamer signs a lucrative exclusive contract with one or the other. However, on today’s stream, Asmongold brought the topic to the forefront without mentioning any influencers.
Asmongold took a moment to compliment YouTube’s technical capabilities with playback for its livestreams and VODs while watching this year’s State of Unreal via his Twitch stream on YouTube.
While Asmongold primarily streams on Twitch, he also has a YouTube channel where he regularly uploads videos.
Even if they have exclusive contracts to stream on Twitch, many content creators post rebroadcasts of their streams and upload highlight videos to YouTube, among other things, to supplement what they do there.
In giving YouTube credit, Asmon also expressed his dissatisfaction with Twitch’s lack of video quality, despite the fact that it is the more established live streaming platform.
While YouTube is newer to livestreaming than Twitch, it is a more established platform. YouTube, which was founded in 2005 and is owned by Google, is older than Twitch, which was founded in 2011. Twitch, on the other hand, has its own notable parent company in Amazon.
