The 39th Golden Joystick Awards recently held as an all-digital event on streaming platforms Twitch and YouTuber, and the complete list of all the winners are listed below.
Emily Rose and Nolan North of Uncharted hosted the all-digital event that featured 20 public-voted categories and two that were judged by critics. Millions of votes were casted, resulting in the list below.
The winners of the Golden Joystick Awards for 2021 are:
- The best storyteller is Life is Strange: True Colors
- It Takes Two to Play the Best Multiplayer Game
- Resident Evil: Village has the best audio.
- Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island is the best game expansion.
- The mobile game of the year is League of Legends: Wild Rift
- PlayStation 5 is the best gaming hardware.
- Death’s Door is the best indie game.
- Capcom was named Studio of the Year.
- Maggie Robertson is the best performer (Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil: Village)
- Housemarque receives the Breakthrough Award (critically chosen)
- Final Fantasy XIV has the best game community.
- Final Fantasy XIV: Still Playing Award
- The best visual design is the Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
- Hitman 3 is the PC Game of the Year.
- Nintendo Game of the Year is Metroid Dread
- Psychonauts 2 is the Xbox Game of the Year.
- Resident Evil: Village is the PlayStation Game of the Year.
- Elden Ring is the most wanted game in the world.
- Deathloop wins the Critics’ Choice Award (critically chosen)
- Best Game of the Year is the Resident Evil: Village
- Personal Computer is the Best Gaming Hardware of All Time (PC)
- The greatest game of all time is Dark Souls
