Valkyrae gaming setup

Valkyrae is arguably the most influential and successful female streamers around. Although she originally got her start livestreaming on Twitch as an fps entertainment streamer, she moved to YouTube in January 2020 after signing an exclusive contract with the program. Over the course of her journey, she managed to accumulate a following of millions of fans and had become a co-owner of 100 Thieves. This is made all the more impressive when you realize that the organization has an estimated worth of $190 million USD as of 2020. Below, we have listed the peripherals that appear in Valkyrae’s gaming setup to enhance both her production quality and her gaming performance. It should be noted that she is sponsored by HyperX.

Valkyrae uses a HyperX Pulsefire Surge mouse. The HyperX Pulsefire Surge is a wired gaming mouse with a symmetrical design that is more suitable for right-handed users due to the button placement on the right thumb side. However, the right and left clicker functions can be swapped via the software to accommodate left-handed use. It is fitted with a PixArt 3389 Optical sensor that provides a DPI range of 100-16,000 with preset profiles of 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 DPI. These can be adjusted in increments of 1 through the software, as can its dynamic 360° RGB lighting effects. Its buttons can be set with up to three macro gaming profiles.

It has a polling rate of 1,000Hz@1ms, as well as a maximum tracking speed of 450 IPS at a maximum acceleration of 50G. It also features large skates for easy gliding. Its software is only compatible with Windows PC devices. Its dimensions are 11.94 x 6.35 x 4.06cm (4.7 x 2.5 x 1.6″) and it weighs 100g (4.64oz.)

Valkyrae uses a HyperX Alloy Origins keyboard. Valkyrae’s gaming setup features the HyperX Alloy Origins full-size version of this wired mechanical keyboard. It is constructed from an aircraft-grade aluminum body set with an option of either HyperX Blue, Aqua, or Red switches and topped with ABS keycaps. She has not specified which switches she opted for. However, all of them actuate at 1.8mm and have a total travel distance of 3.8mm. that is part of the HyperX Alloy line. The switches are not hot-swappable, but their keycaps can be changed for others. The keys have 100% anti-ghosting and full N-key rollover.

The keyboard can be set with 3 macro profiles on the F1-3 keys through the software, as can the RGB lighting. There are also five lighting brightness levels of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% that can be adjusted with the arrow keys as a second function. It also has two-step keyboard feet for three different angle settings of 3°, 7°, or 11°. It is compatible with PC, PS4, and Xbox One devices. Valkyrae uses HyperX Cloud MIX headphones. The HyperX Cloud Mix is a multi-platform gaming headset whose 40mm dual-chamber drivers offer a wide frequency response range of 10 – 40,000Hz at a nominal impedance of 40Ω and a maximum SPL of 100dBSPL (1mW@1kHz.) This is double the regular gaming headset range of 20 – 20,000Hz. It is possible to use it either as a wired or Bluetooth device, but the Bluetooth will not work while it is charging. When used wirelessly the battery can last up to 20 hours. Its wireless range is up to 10m (32.8ft.)

It also offers two microphone options. One is its detachable boom mic and the other is its built-in microphone. The boom mic is both Discord and TeamSpeak certified and offers an impressive frequency response range of 50-80,000Hz, while the in-built mic is not. However, the built-in mic will allow the user to use the headset for communication while on the go without having to worry about keeping the boom mic safe. It also features both inline controls and volume controls on the earcup to provide controls even while using Bluetooth mode. Its frame is constructed from aluminum and its earcups and headband are cushioned with leatherette-covered, dense memory foam. The earcups cannot rotate. It weighs 275g (9.7oz).

Valkyrae uses a CAD GXL2200 microphone. The CAD GXL2200 is a condenser microphone. It has a cardioid polar pattern that operates at a side-address. This helps to ensure that the input is focused, while unwanted background noise is less likely to filter through. Its frequency response range is 30 – 20,000Hz with a nominal impedance of 75Ω. This is combined with its high sensitivity of -36dBV and the internal hi-pass filter allows for low distortion. This makes it suitable for vocal recordings, broadcasts, or instrument sound enhancements. It also has a durable metal construction. However, it requires an XLR cable and 48V phantom power, so you will need an interface that is capable of providing this.

Additionally, there are six function buttons that can be assigned any functions of the user’s choice. It offers connectivity options of Wi-Fi, WPA, WPA2 and USB 2.0 and has a 180° rotatable touch screen.
