You may have missed the most epic poker live stream in history if you didn’t watch the eight-hour Hustler Casino Live show on Sunday night, and that isn’t hyperbole.
More than 100,000 simultaneous viewers watched poker pros Tom Dwan and Phil Hellmuth take on a table full of Twitch streamers, YouTube personalities, and Alan Keating, who may have set the world record for biggest single-session loss in a $100/$200 no-limit hold’em cash game.
Keating, a regular on Hustler Casino Live, raked in $1.1 million against a mostly inexperienced table. Alexandra Botez, a chess prodigy who obliterated her opponents for a $458,000 profit, was on the other end of the spectrum. MrBeast, one of the most popular YouTube celebrities of all time, also won big, winning over $430,000 despite being down big early. Another YouTube sensation, Ludwig, was the third player to break the $400k profit barrier.
The pros, on the other hand, had a bad night. Hellmuth, who was accused of angle-shooting in a hand against Twitch streamer Slime, lost $96,400 and was widely chastised on social media for his performance. Dwan couldn’t get much going against a sloppy table and was card dead for the majority of the night, but he did make a $26,000 profit.
It’s difficult to pick the best hands to show because, quite frankly, they were all incredible. Each player began with a $50,000 buy-in, but the game quickly grew as they all added chips throughout the night. Within an hour, Keating had resurrected three buy-ins, losing a string of all-in pots on dubious bets.
The anticipation for this event was palpable, and the action at the table did not disappoint. One of the best cash game streams we’ve ever seen was talked about nonstop on poker Twitter.
