Sommerset is a female teenage Fortnite content creator who has been streaming since June 2019. Although she initially gained fame through her friendship with Clix, she has maintained her growth thanks to her FPS and editing skills, cute personality and adorable cat and sisters. Below, we have provided a list of the peripherals that form part of Sommerset’s gaming setup for those of you who want to know what she uses to gain an edge during gameplay and to maintain high-level production quality when recording.

 

WHAT MONITOR DOES SOMMERSET USE?

Sommerset uses an Alienware 25 AW2518Hf monitor.

The Alienware 25 AW2518Hf is a 24.5″ gaming monitor that has a TFT LCD display. It can process a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 up to 240Hz. Its features a specific gaming onscreen display with six preset modes, including FPS, RTS, RPG and three customizable game modes.

It is AMD FreeSync-compatible, which helps to minimize graphic distortion and screen tearing. There is also a Dark Stabilizer mode that improves visibility in darker scenes to make enemies and objects clearer. Its stand legs are made of full single die-cast metal for extra durability and it also comes with a cable cover to help with cable management and desk aesthetics. The stand allows for height, tilt, pivot and swivel adjustments. It also has VESA wall-mounting capabilities.

WHAT MOUSE DOES SOMMERSET USE?

Sommerset uses a Logitech G703 Lightspeed mouse.

Sommerset’s gaming setup features the white version of the Logitech G703 Lightspeed wireless gaming mouse. It is constructed from plastic with rubberized side-grips for extra comfort and control, as well as a Hero 25K hero sensor. This sensor allows for a dpi range of 100 – 25,600. This can be set in increments of 50 with the possibility of up to four dpi profiles being stored onboard the mouse itself. This, along with the 2-zone LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting and 6 programable buttons, can be set through the Logitech G Hub software.

The sensor also offers a maximum tracking speed of up to 400 IPS at an acceleration speed of up to 40G. It operates on a LIGHTSPEED 2.4Ghz connection and has a battery life of up to 35 hours with its RGB lighting on. It can also be used while it is charging. Its dimensions are 12.4 x 6.8 x 4.29cm (4.88 x 2.68 x 1.69″) and has a weight of 95g (3.35oz) that can be increased with its 10g (0.35oz) optional weight.

WHAT KEYBOARD DOES SOMMERSET USE?

Sommerset uses a Kraken Pro 60 keyboard with a pink keycap set.

The Kraken Pro 60 is an ultra-compact 60% plug-and-play mechanical keyboard. It is available with Gateron Optical Silver Speed, Brown, Red, Blue or yellow switches, but Sommerset hasn’t specified which she has opted for. However, she has chosen to swap out the original keycaps for the Kraken Pin set that is available through Kraken’s main website. There is also a wide variety of other keycap schemes to choose from there.

However, side from its size and solid plastic construction and double shot PBT keycaps, the other draw of this keyboard is that all of its functions can be set and toggled between directly on the keyboard itself. There are nine preset RGB lighting options to choose from, including a Music Reactive Mode that is triggered by the keyboard’s built-in mic.

WHAT HEADSET DOES SOMMERSET USE?

Sommerset uses a HyperX Cloud Alpha headset.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha is a wired stereo headset whose 50mm neodymium drives provide a frequency response range of 13Hz–27,000Hz. They have an impedance of 65Ω and a sensitivity of 98 dBSPL/mW@1kHz. It has a sturdy aluminum frame, and the ear cups are covered in plastic. The headband is flexible and adjustable to improve the user’s comfort, which is also thy both the headband and earcups are padded in a leatherette-covered memory foam. Sadly, the earcups do not rotate.

It also features a unidirectional microphone with an impressive 50 – 18,000Hz frequency response range that is both TeamSpeak and Discord-certified. This is much wider than the average gaming headset’s range of 100 – 10,000Hz. However, one of its biggest attractions is its compatibility, as it can be used with PC, PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Mac, Mobile, Nintendo Switch and VR. It will require an adapter if used with an Xbox One, though. They way 336g (11.85oz) with the mic and cable.

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES SOMMERSET USE?

Sommerset uses a Blue Ember microphone.

The Blue Ember is a condenser microphone with a side-address. It has a frequency response range of 35 – 20,000Hz at a maximum sound pressure level of 132 dB SPL with and impedance of 40Ω. It has a sturdy metal construction and slim design so as to be durable without taking up too much space. It was designed with streaming and studio-recording in mind and can also process string instruments, drums and piano.

Its cardioid polar-pattern helps to block out unwanted background noises. Although it comes with a stand mount, it doesn’t have a pop-filter, windscreen or shock mount, so you may want to consider buy some to prevent unwanted plosives or electrical interference from filtering in.

WHAT WEBCAM DOES SOMMERSET USE?

Sommerset uses a Logitech BRIO webcam.

The Logitech BRIO is a fairly common webcam among content creators and is used by Replays, KingGeorge and Mongraal. It is therefore unsurprising that it also appears in Sommerset’s gaming setup as well. The Logitech Brio is a plug-and-play webcam that can either be clip-on to a flat screen or mounted on a stand. Aside from its 4K Ultra HD video capture capabilities, it also offers some other advanced features. These include the ability to zoom 5x closer, its RightLight 3 technology that automatically adjusts the camera lighting according to the room’s brightness, as well as a field of view that can be adjusted between 65°, 78° and 90°.

WHAT MIXER DOES SOMMERSET USE?

Sommerset uses a TC Helicon GoXLR mixer.

This is a compact 4-channel mixer that allows for either one XLR or one TS/TRS/TRRS microphone and one headset to be connected at a time and is capable of providing 48V+ phantom power. The left side offers four sliders that can be used to control the microphone, music, chatting and system inputs, with each slider having its own mute button as well. The microphone slider also offers 70dB of gain for up to one mic.

The right half is divided into the top part which provides vocal effects such as pitch echo, reverb and gender-bending, whereas the bottom part features controls for sample recordings. These can be programmed for immediate effects use during live podcasts. There is also a mute and bleep button in the right-most bottom corner.
