KingGeorge is a retired professional Rainbow Siege Six streamer who has been part of the R6 scene since 2016 and is recognized for his insane shooting skills and reflexes, as well as his extensive map guides. His biggest tournament win to date was at the 2017 Six Invitational tournament for PC players, where he won $10,000 USD. He from competitive R6 retired in 2018, but continues to stream it full time on his Twitch channel. We take a look at KingGeorge’s setup for gaming and streaming.

It is also important to note that KingGeorge’s gaming setup is currently sponsored by Corsair, meaning that his choices were also limited to the range that were available for him to choose from. However, he is obviously keen to use equipment that will enhance his gameplay and allow him to maintain the upper hand during games.

KINGGEORGE HEADSET

KingGeorge uses a Corsair Virtuoso SE headset. The Corsair Virtuoso Special Edition RGB headset is wireless and closed-backed and is compatible with PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, among others. It offers 7.1 surround sound with 50mm drivers that offer a frequency range of between 20Hz – 40,000Hz, sensitivity of 109dB and an impedance of 32ohms at 2.5kHz. The fact that they are closed back means that the sound is trapped within the earcups in order to produce a sound-staging effect for a more immersive. At the same time, this also exerts higher pressure on the ear drum, so it is advisable to keep an eye on the audio volume when using these.

The battery can last up to 20 hours and the headset will continue to work while charging. They can pick up the audio for up to 60ft (~18.25m) away from the output device. The mic is detachable and while the adjustable headband and earcups are padded, many feel that they would be more comfortable if the padding were a little thicker.

KINGGEORGE MICROPHONE

KingGeorge uses a Blue Baby Bottle SL microphone. KingGeorge’s gaming setup incorporates a Blue Baby Bottle SL, which is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a sturdy full-metal body. The double mesh metal grill over the diaphragm helps to cancel out plosive sounds and incorporates a cardioid polar pattern. Therefore, it is most sensitive to sounds coming from directly in front of it, while sounds produced from behind it are muffled. However, although it uses a USB connector, it still requires +48V of phantom power to operate, thereby requiring an audio interface to mediate between the microphone and recording device.

As for specs, it has a frequency response rate of 20Hz – 20,000Hz, output impedance of 50ohm, sensitivity of 39.8 mV/Pa at 1 kHz and a dynamic range of 123.2dB. Additionally, it also has a built-in pad with which to activate both its 100Hz high-pass filter and -20dB pad. It also comes with a wooden storage box and metal shock mount.
