The theme of this year’s McDonald’s Super Bowl commercial was indecision — that moment when you pull up to the drive-through or walk into a restaurant, are asked for your order, and can’t decide. “Uhhhh.”
Many people have had this experience, and McDonald’s capitalized on it by featuring celebrities in their commercials. The commercial featured rapper Kanye West and Twitch streamer Edwin Castro in addition to regular customers. McDonald’s even brought back one of its iconic mascots, the purple Grimace. Despite the fact that Grimace only said “uhhh” like everyone else in the commercial, that voice was provided by none other than Ryan Reynolds.
Through a Twitter interaction with his alcohol brand, American Aviation Gin, and McDonald’s, Reynolds confirmed his blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role.
