Tony “RSGloryAndGold” Winchester, a well-known Twitch livestreamer best known for playing RuneScape, passed suddenly on October 12th after a protracted battle with brain cancer.
RSGloryAndGold’s family announced his passing on October 14th to his 351,000+ Twitch followers and 220,000+ YouTube subscribers amassed over a six-year period. When RSGloryAndGold passed away at the age of 69, he had been extraordinarily open about his journey through YouTube videos that provided health updates at each stage.
RSGloryAndGold launched a GoFundMe five days prior to his passing in order for his supporters to be able to assist his family with the funeral costs because he was aware that his time was limited due to his struggle with brain cancer. The family of RSGloryAndGold announced the developer of RuneScape material had passed away on Twitter and in a brief YouTube video describing the cause of his death. They added that he had been with family and wasn’t in any agony. The GoFundMe that was started beforehand has a goal of $50,000 and has already raised more than $40,000, which could assist his family in paying for the funeral that RSGloryAndGold may have hoped for.
Following the news of RSGloryAndGold’s passing, the RuneScape community and others have flooded social media with condolences to remember the Twitch streamer.
RSGloryAndGold published a post for GoFundMe contributors just before he passed away in which he was open and honest about the pain and partial blindness he had from two malignant tumors, which stopped him from streaming as he normally would. The family fought RSGloryAndGold’s disease “vigorously” before it advanced to his spinal cord and other organs, which is what finally led to his death, according to the YouTube clip from the musician’s son, who has been assisting with things like the GoFundMe.
Numerous other well-known livestreamers, like CouRage, Crayator, Ethan Klein, Jake Lucky, Ricky Berwick, and others, have expressed their sympathy for the death of the Winchester family.
