She announced in 2020 that she would be awarding money in the form of scholarships to student gamers who struggle to balance school and gaming. What’s more, guess what? Pokimane hasn’t forgotten about her words.
This year, she has announced that she will award a $100k scholarship to student gamers. Pokiamne collaborated on this project with the American Video Game League (AVGL). The following is a breakdown of the scholarship amount:
Pokimane will contribute $50,000, with the remaining funds coming from the American Video Game League’s producers of collegiate esports events and content.
What are the requirements for applying for the Student Gamers scholarship? Candidates must submit a short video of themselves discussing their “background and goals as a gamer.” Scholarship applications will be accepted until the end of 2021, after which the winners will be announced.
Although the exact date of the scholarship decision has not been confirmed, we do know that the scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to start college in the fall of the following year.
