Halo Infinite has been under tremendous pressure, but 343 Industries has been working nonstop to try and save it. Let me give you the lowdown if you’ve missed the entire fiasco. Without a co-op campaign, Halo Infinite disappointingly debuted, and it didn’t take long for the player count to reach an all-time low.
Developers eventually released a second season, but players claimed it removed all the fun from the game. Then, on Juneteenth, a highly offensive in-game item was released. Testing for a co-op campaign has begun eight months after its release, but well-known Twitch streamer Nickmercs is not at all impressed.
Recently, 343 Industries came under fire from Nickmercs for their disregard for Halo Infinite and the Halo community. The outburst happened right when the co-op campaign testing for Halo Infinite began. For access to the test, which ends on August 1, Xbox and PC users can now sign up for the Halo Insider Program.
It’s unquestionably a significant step forward, but it’s concerning that eight months after launch, a cooperative campaign is only now beginning to take shape. Can co-op revive the dwindling player base of Halo Infinite? Only time will tell.
