New World players recently discover a new version of gold dupe exploits after disabling Trading Posts, which prevents coin transfer.
New World is now one of the most recent MMORPGs to hit the market and since its release, the game has remained popular, with many people checking it out, including popular Twitch streamer Shroud. Despite its popularity among MMO players, many players have encountered a number of bugs.
A gold dupe exploit discovered by players was one of the said issues. Through an unintended bug with the Trading Post, players could gain more gold by exploiting this glitch. As a result of the said issue, the game’s developer Amazon Games Studios promised to ban any players who use the exploit.
Regardless, the problem became so widespread that the developer decided to disable Trading Posts until the glitch was fixed but unfortunately, it appears that some players have discovered a new version of the dreaded gold dupe exploit in the time since Trading Posts were closed.
On the New World Subreddit, a Reddit user known as xAleksas shared his findings. According to the user, starting a town upgrade does not cost the player any gold, and the upgrade does not begin. Reconnecting to the game, adds the cost of the upgrade to the company’s budget.
The New World community has undoubtedly taken notice of this new exploit. This exploit appears to be real, with over 5,100 upvotes and hundreds of comments. One disgruntled user observed that the New World economy now appears to be pointless as a result of the current situation.
One player says that he spent his entire time playing New World and being involved in the economy, in his time was completely wasted. While others try to ignore the economy entirely. Another gamer commented that he’s just out in the wilderness questing, pretending everything is fine.
Amazon Games Studios has yet to respond to the latest exploit discovered by its players but they recently made a statement about how they were combating the first gold dupe exploit. The developers plan to investigate how the glitch is being used, according to a Community Manager at the studio. This investigation is likely to now include the new gold glitch as well.
This is a significant development for the company, as Trading Posts allow players to purchase a variety of items, including weapons. Transfers involving currency, guild treasury, and player-to-player trading have all been disabled, in addition to Trading Posts. The developer stated that once gold transfers are enabled again, it will notify players.
In New World, it’ll be interesting to see how Amazon Games Studios handles this new version of the gold dupe exploit. Unfortunately for those looking to resume trading, it appears that this new glitch will keep Trading Posts offline for some time.
The PC version of New World is now available.
