HighDistortion’s Gaming Setup and Streaming Gear

highdistorition setup for gaming and streaming

HighDistortion is a lifelong gamer who started out streaming on Twitch in 2015. Alhough he started out with Gears of War, he only really started grinding, and growing, when he switched to Fortnite in October 2017. Two months later, he found himself signed with TSM, which cemented his place among the Fortnite elite.

Since then, he has continued to build his follower base. One of his major achievements was being the first player in the world to hit 100,000 kills in Fortnite. We have provided a list of the equipment included in HighDistortion’s gaming setup for those of you who are interested in finding out what this battle royale legend uses to keep his edge.

HIGHDISTORTION’S MOUSE

HighDistortion uses a Razer DeathAdder V2 mouse. The Razer DeathAdder 2 is a wired, RGB gaming mouse for right-handed gamers that incorporates a Focus+ 20,000dpi optical sensor into its design that is capable of tracking at speeds of up to 650IPS. The clickers are fitted with Razer Optical Mouse Switches that have a response time of 0.2ms.

This mouse has 8 programable buttons, including the right and left clickers, serrated scroll wheel, two dpi buttons, two right thumb-side buttons, and the power button on its underside. It is possible to store up to five profiles directly onto the mouse. These, as well as the RGB lighting, can be set via the downloadable Razer Synapse 3 software. Furthermore, although the dpi buttons are preset with five options of 400, 800, 1600, 2400 and 3200 dpi levels, these can also be adjusted in the software.

The DeathAdder V2 has an ergonomic design and weighs in at 82g (0.18lbz) and has a 1.8m (70.87”) cord that is designed to be drag-free and flexible. Its dimensions are 127 x 61.7 x 42.7mm (5 x 2.43 x 1.68”). There are also two 100% PTFE mouse feet at either end of the mouse’s underside, as well as rubberized side grips to provide for extra control.

HIGHDISTORTION’S KEYBOARD

HighDistortion’s gaming setup includes the Logitech G Pro keyboard. The Logitech G Pro mechanical keyboard is a tenkeyless, LIGHTSYNC RGB keyboard that also used by chocoTaco and Danucd, among others. It utilizes Romer G keys with GX Blue clicky mechanical switches that are meant to provide “25 percent faster actuation than standard mechanical switches” and to last for up to 70 million key presses. Their actuation force is at 50g (1.8oz) and the keys have an actuation distance of 2mm (0.1”) with a 1ms report rate. Its 12 F-keys and RGB lighting are programable through the Logitech G Hub software.

Build-wise, it has dimensions of 3.4 x 36.1 x 15.3cm (1.3 x 14.2 x 6.02”) and has a three-step angle adjustment for wrist comfort, as well as rubber feet for grip. Its micro-USB cable is detachable and is compatible with Windows 7 or later and Mac OS x10.10 and later.

HIGHDISTORTION’S HEADSET

HighDistortion uses Sennheiser HD 700 headphones. Sadly, the Sennheiser HD 700 is no longer being produced and is therefore pretty hard to come by. They are over-ear, open-backed stereo headphones that have a flat frequency response rate of 10 – 42,000Hz, a nominal impedance of 150Ohms and a sound pressure level of 105dB.

HIGHDISTORTION’S MICROPHONE

HighDistortion uses a Shure SM7B microphone. The choice of including a Shure SM7B microphone in HighDistortion’s gaming setup is hardly surprising, given that its used by a large chunk of the top streamers, including Fresh, CohhCarnage and Nadeshot, to name a few.

Its full metal chassis makes it pretty durable and also has a presence boost switch and bass roll of switch on its base. It has a large diaphragm construction and a unidirectional polar pattern, as well as a built-in pop-filter and external detachable windscreen to prevent unwanted sounds from filtering into recordings.

This  studio-quality mic has a frequency response range of 50 – 20,000Hz, a nominal impedance of 150Ohms and a sensitivity of -50dB. As it runs on +48V of phantom power, it will require both an XLR cable and audio interface in order to register on the recording device. It does, however, come with a nut stand connector.
