Given how much harder it is to succeed on YouTube than it is on Twitch, Jeremy Wang AKA Disguised Toast said he has “way more respect” for the platform’s creators.
As the competition between the two platforms intensifies, many Twitch streamers have made the major decision to move from Twitch to YouTube. In their attempts to become popular, some streamers, however, have had difficulty adjusting to the change and YouTube’s algorithm.
Disguised Toast has now outlined the differences between working on various platforms and why breaking through on YouTube is more difficult. On July 1, Disguised Toast, Scarra, Gigguk, and fellow hosts of the anime and Trash Taste podcasts all made an appearance on his stream for the OfflineTV Podcast.
The group was talking about how the pandemic “elevated” and made streaming particularly popular. Even though Twitch streaming has become more popular, DisguisedToast asserts that it is still “harder” to be a YouTuber.
The group also criticized the “high-school” behavior of some streamers, who would argue with one another about who had more viewers. Disguised Toast has consistently refuted any claims that he will soon join YouTube. He has, however, previously asserted that “at least” 5 more streamers will switch to the platform in response to Sykkuno‘s significant switch.
