Clix first started making a name for himself in the Fortnite scene when he was just fourteen years old after he began entering and ranking high consistently in online tournaments. His successes earned him a place with Misfits Gaming in March 2019 and then successfully qualified multiple times for both the Solo and Duo Fortnite World Cup Championship finals by the time it rolled round in 2019. All of these factors combined with his 18th solo and 35th duo placements in the finals helped him to catapult him to one of the most popular Fortnite streamers on Twitch. As he still continues to achieve high-ranking placements in online tournaments, it is worthwhile to checkout the equipment that makes up Clix’s gaming setup.
WHAT MONITOR DOES CLIX USE?
Clix uses an Alienware 25 AW2518Hf monitor. The AW2518Hf is a 24.5-inch monitor that boasts a 240Hz refresh rate for 920 x 1080p display, and a 1ms grey-to-grey response time. It is compatible with all operating systems and integrates AMD Free Sync technology to reduce instances of tearing and broken frames.
Its stand can be height adjusted between 0 – 130mm, tilted between -5° to 25°, swiveled between -20° to 20° and pivoted between -90° to 90°. It is also VESA 100mm compatible for wall mounting.
It comes with an HDMI cable and USB 3.0 upstream cable as well as a cable cover.
WHAT MOUSE DOES CLIX USE?
Clix uses a FinalMouse Air58 mouse. Clix uses both the Cherry Blossom Red and Mystic Blue versions of the ambidextrous Air58 x Ninja gaming mouse. This mouse is a limited edition mouse that was designed in collaboration with Ninja that is being increasingly difficult (and expensive) to come by. It is a lightweight, non-RGB mouse that weighs around 58g (2oz) largely due to the hexagonal holes that decorate its solid plastic chassis.
It comes with two macro buttons on the right-thumb side grip, as well as a DPI button below the scroll wheel that can toggle between 400, 800, 1600 and 3200dpi settings. Furthermore, it also has a woven, flexible 1.78m (70”) bungie cable.
WHAT KEYBOARD DOES CLIX USE?
Clix uses a Clix x Matrix keyboard. The Clix x Matrix is a limited edition keyboard that is only available through the Matrix store. It is a 60% keyboard that has black Gatreon switches, PBT backlighting with five preloaded lighting modes as well as four preloaded active key light modes.
He has replaced the original key caps with a set of Matrix Nepn Pink Doubleshot key caps.
WHAT HEADSET DOES CLIX USE?
Clix uses Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO headphones. Clix uses the grey version of the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO headphones, although the difference between the grey and black versions are purely aesthetic. They are wired, over-ear headphones that have a 3m (~118-inch) coiled ¼ inch (6.4mm) TRS jack cable integrated in the left earpiece.
The memory foam-filled ear pads are covered with the velour fabric, while the adjustable headband’s memory foam cushioning is covered in a leatherette fabric. While the ear cups are made of plastic, the rest of the chassis is constructed from metal.
As the ear-cups are open-backed, they will allow a bit of sound to escape, as well as for some background noise to filter in. Although this may be impractical for use in a public space, they are useful in a gaming environment, as they will cause less sound pressure on the user’s eardrums. These stereo headphones have a v-shaped frequency response of between 5 – 35,000Hz and an impedance 250Ohm. There is also an 80Ohm version which increases the price by between $20-$40 USD, depending on the sale or seller.
WHAT MICROPHONE DOES CLIX USE?
Clix uses a HyperX QuadCast microphone. Clix’s gaming setup includes a HyperX QuadCast USB condenser microphone that is compatible with PC, Mac and PS4 platforms. There are four polar patterns to choose from, namely Cardioid, Bidirectional, Omnidirectional and Stereo. These can be easily toggled between by means of the on-body knob. It also has a built-in pop filter, as well as a tap-to-mute sensor on its head along with an LED indicator.
It has a frequency response rate of 20 – 20,000Hz and a sensitivity of -36bB (1V/Pa at 1kHz). As it is plug-and-play, there is no need for an intermediary audio interface. The sensitivity can then be adjusted with the control knob located on its body.
The HyperX QuadCast also comes with its own shock mount and desk stand, and the shock mount can also be attached to another microphone stand or boom arm, if required. It also has a built-in headphone jack, with a nominal impedance of 32Ohms and a frequency response rate of 20 – 2,000Hz.
WHAT WEBCAM DOES CLIX USE?
Clix uses a Logitech C920 webcam. The Logitech C920 is a plug-and-play webcam that is pretty prolific among Twitch streamers, including Aceu and TSM_Daequan. It can record at either 720 or 1080p at 30fps for a Full HD screen resolution of up to 1920 x 1080.
It comes with a ~152cm (5ft) cable and is compatible with Windows 7 or higher and Mac OS 10.10 or higher, but not with android devices. Although it does have built-in speakers and a built-in mic, most streamers tend to prefer relying on either their headset’s mic or a dedicated microphone for recordings.
