Following in the footsteps of Fortnite Battle Royale, GTA, and World of Warcraft, Activision appears to be planning the launch of a Call of Duty subscription model.
Activision is advertising a “stellar” opportunity for a Manager of Influencer Marketing just days after Rockstar Games launched their new GTA+ service.
The position, which was posted to their official Careers page in March, is looking for someone who lives in Santa Monica or the greater Los Angeles area.
As of March 29, 2022, the job listing has been removed.
While it appears to be a position within the larger machine at first glance, some of the wording will be of interest to Call of Duty players.
Call of Duty has previously attracted a number of notable figures. Fans have seen everyone from Dr. Disrespect to footballer Jack Grealish involved in marketing in recent years, and it appears that this strategy will be expanded with the introduction of a new subscription content model because details on CoD 2.0 are still scarce, it’s unclear what the fully fleshed-out version of the project will look like.
