Twitch is working on three new features, including rewinding capabilities and stream reminders, according to a new trial.
Twitch is continually scrutinized as one of the most popular livestream sites on the internet today. Any minor adjustments or earth-shattering revelations can send shockwaves through the online entertainment sector. While some of the Amazon-backed platform’s latest ideas have drawn immediate criticism, others are frequently welcomed improvements to the streaming and viewing experience.
Twitch has revealed three new features in the works, all of which will undoubtedly fall into the latter group. Their new trials include rewinding, setting reminders, and watching trailers. The official Twitch Support Twitter account revealed; “Over the next month, some viewers may see up to three new buttons on live channels”.
‘Rewind the Stream’ is the label of the first new button. With this new function, viewers can rewind a live broadcast, as the name implies. Rewinding, rather than clipping the last few seconds of a stream, should allow viewers to travel far further back.
This functionality should accommodate you whether you’re late for your favorite streamer’s major event or simply want to review someone’s prior multiplayer match, for example.
The Remind Me feature comes next. This appears to be a straightforward addition that does exactly what it says on the tin: it alerts you when your favorite streamers go live.
Last but not least, there’s the option to watch a trailer. This looks to allow new viewers to watch stream channel trailers without having to go to a profile page manually. Twitch has announced that all three services will be available for a month to a small group of users.
It’s worth mentioning that not every feature will be included. However, it’s safe to assume that some of the new features will be handed out globally in the coming months.
