Despite heavy competition, Sykkuno explained why he believes Twitch star xQc will win Streamer of the Year at the 2023 Streamer Awards.
The voting for the 2023 Streamer Awards is now underway, and both viewers and content creators are giving their opinions on the nominees. Many categories, including “Best Art Streamer,” “Best Soulslike Streamer,” and others, are eligible for voting this year. “Streamer of the Year,” however, is the prize that is most sought after. Hasan, Kai Cenat, Jerma, and xQc are the four nominees for the category this year. All of these broadcasters are good candidates for the award, with xQc now holding the top spot among Twitch streamers in terms of followers and Kai Cenat currently participating in a month-long subathon.
Sykkuno, a fellow content creator, thinks that of the four nominees, xQc has the highest chance of winning, and he provided a hilarious explanation for his claim.
On February 20, Sykkuno asserted on a YouTube stream that xQc is most likely to win Streamer of the Year due to his propensity for failing to show up to events yet still being invited back a second time. He said; “I feel like x probably would get the vote, and here’s why. You know he’s the Streamer of the Year, and you know he’s probably the biggest deal in streaming, ’cause of the amount of times he gets invited to an event, straight up doesn’t show up, and then gets invited again, anyway. Normally, if you say you’re going to an event and don’t show up, you’re never getting invited again. But I guess you can tell he’s such an important streamer that he can literally not show up to an event repeatedly, and still get invited next time.”
In support of his claim, Sykkuno cited the instance when xQc double-booked the debut of his game show “Juiced” with Ludwig on the same day as Twitch Rivals, almost causing him to miss the occasion entirely. In the past, xQc has a history of skipping major events where he was scheduled to perform, most notably Shitcamp 2022, which resulted in a number of back-and-forth confrontations between the streamers involved.
The 2023 Streamer Awards will go live on March 11 after the voting period concludes on March 4. There’s no way to know for sure until then whether Sykkuno’s theory will hold up.
