Below, we have provided an overview of the equipment that features in Stormen’s gaming setup to provide insight into how he optimizes his gaming skills.
WHAT MONITOR DOES STORMEN USE?
Stormen uses an ASUS ROG Swift PG258Q monitor. The ASUS ROG Swift PG258Q is a fairly common choice among streamers, as it can also be found in the setups of Sleepy, Myth and CourageJD, among others. It is an award-winning 24.5” gaming monitor that can produce a maximum resolution of 190x1080p at a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz @ 1ms (grey-to-grey.) It offers a maximum brightness of 400 cd/㎡ at a pixel pitch of 0.2835 x 0.2835mm.
It is integrated with NVIDIA G Sync technology to reduce tearing, lagging and stuttering. But this requires a compatible Nvidia graphics card, as does the 240Hz refresh rate. However, there is also the option of using the Ultra-Low Motion Blur (ULMB) technology instead. As well as featuring a non-glare surface, the LCD screen also utilizes ASUS Ultra-low Blue Light filters. These provide five filter settings to protect you from harmful blue light. The ASUS Eye Care Technology also helps to reduce eyestrain over longer gaming sessions.
The stand offers a variety of adjustment options, such as tweaking the height between 0~12cm (0 – 4.72”,) tilting it between -5°~20°, pivoting it 90° and swiveling it -50°~50°. The screen has a viewing angle of 170°(H)/160°(V) and can also be detached for VESA-compatible wall mounting. Furthermore, it has a detachable input/output cover with which to organize its cables. It has dimensions of 56.41 x 50.37 x 25.37cm (22.3 x 15.2 x 10″.)
WHAT MOUSE DOES STORMEN USE?
Stormen uses a Logitech G Pro X Superlight mouse. Stormen’s gaming setup includes the Logitech G PRO X Superlight is a wireless gaming mouse whose battery life can last up to 70 hours. It is composed of a lightweight plastic chassis with no lighting options and 5 programmable buttons. This gives at an ultra-light weight of just 63g (2.2oz.) Its buttons are made up of its right and left clickers, the scroll wheel and its two side buttons positioned on its right thumb side. Although it has a symmetrical design, the button placement makes it more suitable for right-handed users. It has 100% PTFE feet on its underside to increase tracking speed and decrease carbon emissions.
It boasts a Hero 25K optical sensor that provides a DPI rang of 100 – 25,400. It is possible to allocate either of the side buttons as a DPI button through the Logitech G HUB software. Once this is done, up to five DPI profiles can be stored onboard the mouse, set anywhere within the range, but in increments of 50. The mouse can track at a maximum speed of 400 IPS and at a maximum acceleration of 40G. It measures cannot be used while charging. 12.5 x 6.35 x 4cm (4.92 x 2.5 x 1.57″) and is compatible with Windows 8 or later, macOS 10.11 or later.
WHAT MOUSEPAD DOES STORMEN USE?
Stormen uses a Logitech G840 mousepad. The Logitech G840 is an extra-large mousepad that has measurements of 2.8 x 90 x 40cm (0.11 x 35.43 x 15.74”.) It is made from a black cloth surface that is attached to a blue, textured, rubber base. The cloth creates a moderate surface friction which provides enough resistance to the mouse feet when starting or stopping a quick movement during low dpi gaming sessions. The rubber base prevents the mousepad from sliding or scrunching up during use and thereby interfering with your mouse’s movement. Additionally, it can also be easily rolled up and placed in its storage tube.
WHAT KEYBOARD DOES STORMEN USE?
Stormen uses a Ducky One TKL keyboard. The Ducky One TKL is a wired mechanical keyboard that is available in a variety of Cherry MX options, but Stormen has not specified which set he has chosen. Although the switches are not hot-swappable, the keycaps are. There are also two keycap choices when buying the keyboard, namely either Double Shot PBT or Laser-Engraved ABS. It is also available in RGB and full-sized options. Aside from its four rubber feet in its corners to keep it in place during use, it also has 3-level angle adjustment on its underside. It also has a cable-management router.
Additionally, the keyboard offers per-key Blue LED backlighting with lighting options that can be cycled through using the Fn+ F keys. All of the programming is done directly onboard the keyboard by using the Fn key. An instruction book is included on how to do so. This includes setting macro and multimedia controls to the 1-6 keys, if Stormen so wishes. There is also Full N-key rollover at the keys register at a 1ms response time. The board itself measures. 44 x 13.5 x 4cm (14.04 x 1.61 x 5.24″) and weighs 1.1kg (2.43lbs.) It is compatible with Windows and Mac devices.
WHAT HEADSET DOES STORMEN USE?
Stormen uses a Logitech G Pro X (Wired) headset. The wired version of the Logitech G Pro X headset provides a Next-Gen 7.1 surround sound experience. It is fitted with Hybrid mesh neodymium PRO-G 50mm drivers. These provide a frequency response range of 20 – 20,000Hz and operates at a sensitivity of 107dB at a nominal impedance of 32Ω. It is constructed from TR90 nylon in the headband, combined with adjustable stainless-steel sliders with glass fiber reinforced nylon joints connecting it to the plastic earcups.
The earcups come with a pair of leatherette-covered memory foam attached, as well as an extra set of cloth-covered ear pads. The headband is also padded with leatherette-covered foam. It also comes with a detachable, back electret condenser microphone. It has a 4mm capsule that utilizes a cardioid polar pattern and provides a frequency response range of 100-10,000Hz. It weighs 259g (0.82lbs) and is compatible with Windows 7 or later PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and VR devices.
WHAT MICROPHONE DOES STORMEN USE?
Stormen uses an Audio-Technica AT2020 XLR microphone. Stormen’s gaming setup has recently been upgraded from the AT2020USB+ microphone to the to the XLR version. It shares many of the specifications of its plug-and-play counterpart and it is intended for vocal recordings. The XLR version is also a condenser microphone and provides a frequency response range of 20-20,000Hz at a nominal impedance of 100Ω, a maximum SPL of 124dB and a sensitivity of -37dB.
But, it differs from the USB version, in that it produces a crisper output with less interference and also enables more alterations during editing. It also requires 48V phantom power, which means that it will need a compatible audio interface to power it.
WHAT WEBCAM DOES STORMEN USE?
Stormen uses a Logitech C920 webcam. The Logitech C920 is a basic plug-and-play USB webcam. It is fitted with a 3mp optical lens that records at a 78° field of view and is able to record at either 1902080p at 30fps, or 720x 1080p at 30fps. Its RightLight 2 feature allows for automatic adjustments according to the gradual light changes in the recoding room, while its autofocus helps to prevent blurring. These specs are designed to accommodate designed for conference calls and recordings. It is compatible with Windows 7+, Mac OS 10.10+, Chrome OS, and Android v 5.0+ (32-bit/64-bit) devices.
WHAT CHAIR DOES STORMEN USE?
Stormen uses a DXRacer King (Black & White) chair. The DXRacer King is a racing chair that is intended for home office use. It is built from a full-metal frame with cold foam padding that is covered in a leatherette fabric. It then rests on a class 4 gas lift that is attached to a five-star wide aluminum base ending in 7.62cm (3″) casters. It is available in a variety of color options, but Stormen’s gaming setup includes the black and white version. It has an ergonomic design with thanks to its mould-shaping foam and adjustment options. These include 4D armrest adjustment, height alterations between 48.26 – 55.88cm (19 – 22”) from floor to seat, backrest adjustment of 90 – 135° and tilt options of 1~14°. Furthermore, it also offers a 15° rocking mode and comes with a removable headrest and removable lumbar pillow as well. It has a recommended weight limit of 124.7kg (275lbs) but can handle up t 136.1kg (300lbs.)
