Small Streamer Cancer Story

Small Streamer’s Cancer Story

We rarely have time to read about the sweeter, cuter side of Twitch and chat because there is always so much talk about hate raids, assaults, and hacking.

Halo streamer TwoQuickOnes, was searching the online streaming site for people streaming without viewers. He’d find a streamer, chat for a few minutes, and then donate $1 in the hopes of giving each person a boost of confidence. When he was playing Fortnite, he came across Jay Squatch, a small-time streamer. Jay had only about 100 followers despite his upbeat attitude and luxurious beard.

When TwoQuickOnes asked how long it would take Jay to shave his beard live on stream, Jay revealed that the beard wasn’t going to last much longer. The 29-year-old newlywed is currently undergoing chemotherapy for Ewing sarcoma cancer. Jay would most likely lose all of his hair as a result of the treatment. Jay’s treatment is so aggressive that he frequently has to stay in the hospital for several days at a time.

Following his diagnosis, Jay quit his job and started a GoFundMe to cover his living expenses and whatever money he can make while streaming. However, he hadn’t raised money at the time when TwoQuickOnes appeared in his twitch chat.

Jay’s stream and donations skyrocketed after TwoQuickOnes shared his story with his followers. His GoFundMe campaign has now raised nearly $60,000 of the $85,000 goal. Not only that, but he also received a lot of donations through Twitch. His follower count has also increased significantly, with nearly 13k followers on the platform.

Jay has already shaved off his hair and beard, according to his most recent streams. While he didn’t completely shave it off on stream, we must say that he looks dapper in his new look.
