Shroud Team Wins Valorant Competitive Debut

Twitch celebrity and a former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, Michael Grzesiek AKA Shroud made his VALORANT competitive debut at the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021 North America Stage 3 Challengers 2, and his team ‘What’s Going On’ wowed fans in their first round.

Shroud’s squad defeated ‘Damn I Love Fwogs’ 2-0 in the first round, winning 13-6 on Haven and 13-4 on Bind. His record on Haven was 11 kills and 10 deaths while introducing the new VALORANT agent, KAY/O. He racked up a server-high 12 assists by utilizing the robot killer agent’s usefulness. ShawnBM, a teammate and a VALORANT content creator, led the way with 24 kills and 8 fatalities in the said battle.

Shroud earned 16 kills, 6 assists, and 11 deaths as the controller agent Omen on Bind. Laski earned the team MVP with 20 kills as Raze in this match. What’s going on fell to EZ5 in the PRO 64 match, which was rather one-sided as EZ5 won the series 2-0 after an outstanding showing in the first round and on the first map, Breeze, EZ5 won 13-7, and on the second map, Haven, EZ5 won 13-5, knocking What’s going on out of the tournament.

Despite the fact that they only won one match in the qualifier, the group didn’t anticipate much because they were mainly playing for entertainment and had no practice, according to Relyks.

Shroud, iiTzTimmy, Relyks, Laski, and ShawnBM stated on Twitch earlier this month that they will be participating at the VCT with a powerful squad.

Shroud said several times on stream that his squad is playing for entertainment first and foremost, and that this isn’t a full-time comeback to competitive gaming. Shroud supporters, on the other hand, are pleased to see his competitive side after years of focusing on broadcasting and content creation.

Even though he believes VALORANT is a fantastic game, Shroud revealed why he won’t be returning to the competitive arena once Riot released it last year.
