Imane “Pokimane” Anys, a streamer, loves to brag about herself on the internet. Her recent remark that “all women belong in the kitchen” has gotten her a lot of attention.
As a result, the community scorned the Moroccan-Canadian personality. Women streamers have already had a difficult time breaking into the gaming and content creation industries, and Pokimane’s statement only reinforces the stereotype that women belong in the kitchen.
She clarified her statement in a recent stream. Despite the fact that she has stated her position, it is safe to say that the 25-year-old has only served to exacerbate the situation.
The Among Us sensation stepped forward to shed some additional light on the situation. A viewer asked her to think about her statement during one of her recent streams. Pokimane paused for a moment before responding, “I mean, for a few reasons.” She enjoys cooking and spends a lot of time in the kitchen. Second, she does not make the rules; she simply repeats them from time to time.
Pokimane couldn’t help but laugh, and she quickly clarified that she was joking. The joke was not received as intended because it dealt with a sensitive subject to begin with.
The streamer continued, “The worst thing in life is explaining why a joke is a joke.” However, as a streamer, she may be required to do so in order to ensure that her viewers are not concerned and that she is not a sexist.
