ONSCREEN’s Gaming Setup: An In-Depth Look

ONSCREEN made a name for himself in the pro CS 1.6 and CS:GO scenes before starting to stream on Twitch firstly in 2013 and then again in July 2014. Although he still mains CS:GO, he also streams other fps games such as Fortnite and Valorant. As you may be interested in the equipment that he uses to optimize his fps skills, we have provided a summary of the peripherals in ONSCREEN’s gaming setup below.

 

WHAT MONITOR DOES ONSCREEN USE?

ONSCREEN uses a BenQ ZOWIE XL2546 24.5-inch monitor. The BenQ XL2546 offers a resolution of 1920x 1080p with a 240Hz refresh rate and an aspect ratio of 16:9. Its response time is 1ms. These features are meant to minimize instance of blurriness and lagging during gameplay but can only be actualized with the appropriate supporting hardware. Similarly, the side shields are also included to help prevent distractions from appearing in the user’s peripheral vision.

It has 100 x 100mm VESA wall-mounting capabilities. While on the stand, the screen can be height adjusted between 0 – 130mm (5.12”), pivoted -90°/90°, swiveled -45°/45° and tilted 5°-20°. Side ports include a headset hanger, 2 x USB 3.0, 2 x headphone jacks, DVI-DL (144Hz), HDMI 2.0 (240Hz) and USB 3.0 Upstream. Its dimensions are 57 x 51.5 x 22.6cm (22.44 x 20.29 x 8.9”) and weighs 7.5kg (16.53lbs).

WHAT MOUSE DOES ONSCREEN USE?

ONSCREEN uses a Logitech G Pro wireless mouse. ONSCREEN’s gaming setup features the same ambidextrous mouse as those of Aceu, Danucd and UnknownxArmy. It utilizes a Hero 3 optical senso that offers DPI range of 100 – 16,000 that can be set in increments of 50. Up to five of these DPI profiles can be set through the Logitech Gaming software. The sensor can also track at speeds of 400IPS at a report rate of 1ms.

In addition to the clickers, the scroll wheel also has a programable button, and there are also forward and back buttons that can be added to both or either thumb-side, as well as a dpi button on its underside. Additionally, its built-in battery that can last up to 63hrs when the RGB lights are turned off. It can be used while it is charging.

It is constructed from a lightweight plastic to weigh in at 79g (1.8oz) and has dimensions of 3.82 x 62.15 x 11.66cm (1.57 x 2.5 x 4.92”,) has four 100% PTFE feet along with a 1.8m (70.86”) USB charging cable.

WHAT KEYBOARD DOES ONSCREEN USE?

ONSCREEN uses a Logitech G Pro Mechanical keyboard. This keyboard has a wired, tenkeyless design that uses GX BLU Clicky switches set with Romer G keycaps. These switches offer an actuation distance of 2mm (0.1”) at an actuation force of 50G that Logitech claims to be “25% faster actuation than standard mechanical switches.” Each key has a keystroke signal processing time of 2.5ms, as well as a response time of 1ms, and are guaranteed for 70 million keystrokes.

The function keys are programable through the Logitech G HUB software, as is the RGB lighting. It can also be adjusted to three different angles and it also has rubber feet to keep it from slipping. There is also a USB passthrough port at the top.

It has dimensions of 3.4 x 36.1 x 15.3cm (14.96 x 1.97 x 6.3”) and weighs in at 1.32kg (2.9lbs.) It is compatible with macOS 10.11 and up, as well as Windows 7 and up.

WHAT HEADSET DOES ONSCREEN USE?

ONSCREEN uses Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro headphones. These headphones are dynamic, studio headphones with an open-back design that are built on a spring steel. It has an adjustable headband that is padded with a velour fabric, as are the ear-cups. The drivers offer a frequency response range of 5 – 40,000Hz with a sensitivity of 102dB, a nominal impedance of 250Ohms, and a nominal sound pressure level of 108sBSPL @ 1mW/500Hz.

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES ONSCREEN USE?

ONSCREEN uses a Shure SM7B microphone. The Shure SM7B is one of the most popular microphones among streams and is used by AnneMunition, Loeya and Beaulo, among others. It is therefore unsurprising that it also features in ONSCREEN’s gaming setup.

It has a unidirectional polar-pattern that offers a frequency response range of bet ween 50 – 20,000Hz with a sensitivity of -50dB and a nominal impedance of 150ohms. In order to further enhance the overall audio quality, there is also a boost button and high-press filter switch located on its base.

It also has an internal pop-filter to reduce plosive sounds from being picked up during recordings, as well as an external windscreen to prevent interference from electrical and mechanical sources from filtering in.

It doesn’t run on phantom power, but it will require the additional investment of both an XLR cable and audio-interface in order to register on the recording device.

WHAT WEBCAM DOES ONSCREEN USE?

ONSCREEN uses a Sony a7 III camera. This is a high-end personal camera that has capabilities that are beyond the needs of a basic gaming stream, but it makes sense that someone as established as he is would want to invest extra money into higher production quality.

It has a 24.2MP BSI full frame 35mm (13.78”) image sensor that provides a data processing speed of 1.8x, as well as 693 phase detection and 425 contrast AF points with 93% image coverage that can shoot at a resolution of up to 2160p. It also has a 15-stop dynamic range, 14-bit uncompressed RAW and built-in image stabilization. Furthermore, its lens has 4D focus with an ISO range of 100 – 51,200 that can be expanded to ISO 50 – 2,048,007 by purchasing the relevant lens.

Its battery can last up to 200minsof continuous recording and also offers Bluetooth 4.0+ compatibility with mobile devices that are compatibility with either iOS or Android 5.0 or later.
