Last night, American rap and pop star Lil Nas X was seen on a TazoLIVE Twitch stream as he wandered the streets of Tokyo with no protection and little hoopla.
After being widely posted on social media sites like Reddit, the video of Lil Nas X jokingly interacting with the streamer and onlookers on the street has gained a lot of attention. The singer-songwriter then inquired about TazoLIVE’s cameras and briefly engaged with the Twitch chat after the streamer offered to give him a gift: “What’s up Twitch? Twitch!”
Within a day of being shown on TazoLIVE’s stream on the Amazon-owned platform, the brief video had amassed over 150,000 views. As more and more people have been streaming their real-life experiences to their audience as a legitimate form of entertainment, IRL videos have been progressively gaining ground in the content development industry. Montero Lamar Hill, better known by his stage moniker Lil Nas X, has been exploring Japan for a few days while creating TikTok videos about his travels there. How liberating it is for the star to stroll about in public without the need for bodyguards to protect him has been one of the trip’s major highlights. This is explained by the fact that few people in Japan recognize him on the streets.
Even Lil Nas X created a TikTok specifically about this. It shows him lip-syncing to the trending song “No I’m a star” and with the following caption: “Me realizing I’m not famous in Japan.”
While the streamer was conversing with one of his producers, Denzel Baptiste, the singer approached him and TazoLIVE presented him a gift. The famous person politely declined the offer, saying he had clubs to attend and wouldn’t be able to carry it around: “That’s so cute, but I will have to carry that around the club.”
The musician’s passion for Twitch was understandable given that Lil Nas X is well-versed in the streaming industry having just made an appearance on IShowSpeed’s stream.
