KingRichard started out as an Elder Scrolls Online streamer back in 2014, although he only began streaming regularly in 2015. From there, he gradually evolved into a variety streamer. However, it was only when he started maining Fortnite in October 2017 and rapidly climbed up the leaderboards and racked up high kill counts, that his channel really started to take off. His skills are clear to see, so we have listed all the equipment that makes up KingRichard’s gaming setup.
WHAT MONITOR DOES KINGRICHARD USE?
KingRichard’s uses an ASUS PG258Q 24.5” monitor for gaming. The PG258Q monitor offers a 1920 x 1080p display with a refresh rate of 240Hz and a response time of 1ms. It is imbedded with a TUX Rhineland-certified blue-light filter, as well as flicker-free back lighting. Theseaddtions are meant to help reduce eye strain over long gaming sessions. It also incorporates NVIDIA G-Sync technology to decrease instances of screen tearing and frame stutters.
It has VESA wall-mounting capabilities, while the stand itself can be adjusted between 10.16 – 15.24cm (4 – 6”) in height, while the screen can be tilted up to 160° and rotated between +50° to -50°. However, it is important to note that the screen can only refresh at 240Hz, if the rest of the hardware is able to process at that rate.
WHAT MOUSE DOES KINGRICHARD USE?
KingRichard’s gaming setup includes the FinalMouse Cape Town mouse. The FinalMouse Cape Town mouse is a non-RGB wired gaming mouse that has dimensions of 11.5 x 5.3 x 3.57cm (4.53 x 2.09 x 1.4”). It is lightweight at 58g (2oz), but this excludes the extra weight added by the cord. It has an ambidextrous design with two right-side macro buttons. It utilizes a Pixart 3360 Optical Sensor that can be toggled between be toggled between 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 with the dpi button located below the scroll wheel.
It also comes with three sets of infinity skins in three different thicknesses to add bulk to four different positions on the mouse so as appeal to a wide range of hand sizes. Nevertheless, this is still probably more appropriate for small to medium-sized hands.
WHAT KEYBOARD DOES KINGRICHARD USE?
KingRichard uses a Razer Huntsman TE keyboard as part of his gaming setup. The Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition is a tenkeyless gaming keyboard that utilizes doubleshot PBT keycaps with Linear Optical switches. Their actuation points are at 1mm with an actuation force of 40g, with a keystroke lifespan of up to 100 Million presses. There is a stand bottom-form layout with fully programmable keys. As for the number-pad, they are programmed with N-key roll-over with built-in anti-ghosting.
It is constructed from aluminum and is covered with a matte, aluminum top frame to further improve its durability. Although it is wired, the braided USB cord is detachable. Aside from adjusting the RGB settings, the Razer Synapse software can also be used to set up to five onboard profiles onto the keyboard, with more backup profiles being saved on the software.
WHAT HEADSET DOES KINGRICHARD USE?
KingRichard relies on Sennheiser HD 800 S headphones. The Sennheiser HD 800 S headphones have an open-back, over-ear design with drivers set at a slight angle to provide a more spatial stereo effect. The 56mm ring radiator transducer drives offer a frequency response range of 4 – 51,000Hz (-10dB), with a nominal impedance of 300Ohm and an SPL of 102dB (1kHz, 1Vrm).
While the transducer is enclosed in stainless steel, according to Sennheiser’s website, ‘the headband and headphone mounting utilises the most advanced materials developed in the aerospace industry for high strength with minimal weight’ This weight come out at 330g (11.6oz) without the 3mm cable. It comes with two cable options, namely a 6.35mm ( ¼”) jack plug, as well as a 4.4mm (0.17”) jack plug. However, it does also allow for an XLR-4 connector. And balanced 4.4mm cable

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES KINGRICHARD USE?
For streaming, KingRichard uses a Shure SM7B microphone. The Shure SM7B is a dynamic microphone that has a cardioid polar pattern. It has a frequency response range of between 50 – 20,000Hz, a nominal impedance of 150Ohms and a sensitivity of -50dB. It comes with a bult-in pop-filter to prevent plosive sounds from filtering in, as well as a removable, external windscreen that helps to prevent interference from electrical and mechanical noise sources. There is also a high-press filter switch and boost button to further improve the audio quality.
Although it doesn’t require phantom power to run, it is powered with an XLR cable, meaning that it will need the additional investment of an XLR cable and audio interface, as well as a microphone stand. WHAT WEBCAM DOES KINGRICHARD USE?
