JasonR Responds To Backlash

A popular Twitch streamer and former professional CS:GO player Jason Ruchelski AKA ‘JasonR‘, has been accused of intentionally avoiding or muting female players while playing Valorant and other games.

JasonR, who has been streaming on Twitch since 2015 and has nearly 900,000 followers, is facing new allegations of avoiding or muting women, following similar allegations in 2018.

JasonR and his girlfriend were accused at the time of banning subscribers from his stream if their usernames were “obviously girls,” to which Ruchelski replied, “I literally ban hundreds of people weekly from my stream, including subs, and this sh*t is worth a f**king Reddit thread?”

On February 22, professional Valorant player Annie Dro claimed that 50+ women have experienced the Jason R effect, and that if there is a girl on his team, he will full screen his cam so you don’t see it, then mute/dc.

Annie’s post was in response to streamer qtpanini, who claimed that Ruchelski will “dodge” matches with women on a regular basis, claiming that he “pretending his internet goes out to simply not queue with women.”

JasonR mocked the claims on his stream, joking that he “deserved all the hate” because his game might crash if he had a woman on his team.

Later in the stream, he denied intentionally avoiding a game because his team included a woman. These types of crashes, according to Ruchelski, are fairly common due to the specific setup of his streaming PC.

He also claims that he has received numerous death threats and that he has turned his stream into a sub-only mode as a result of widespread abuse from viewers.

Others, on the other hand, believe he is “gaslighting” his audience by claiming his game simply crashed. Jason made another statement about the dodging accusations during his February 23rd stream.

JasonR was temporarily banned from Twitch in 2018 after jokingly saying “every single f**king girl on twitch are little f**king hoes,” following the initial controversy over banning women from his chat.
