Jacksepticeye Not Returning To Twitch

The reason Jacksepticeye most likely won’t be streaming on Twitch again has been clarified by him. Over the course of a long career on the platform, the YouTuber has amassed over 28 million subscribers.

He has primarily done let’s plays of high-profile video games and responded to content from other websites. As many other content producers did, Jacksepticeye attempted to use Twitch streaming to broaden his audience and offer new types of content, but he ultimately decided it wasn’t the right fit for him and left the service.

When asked about his relationship with Twitch on the Trash Taste Podcast, Jacksepticeye replied that he found himself boring. It makes sense that something like Twitch would be a little off-putting for Jacksepticeye given that his videos are edited to primarily include highlights of his time with a game.

He realized that being a streamer requires different skills than being a YouTuber, and he was concerned that if he spent too much time streaming, his YouTube content would suffer. He came to the conclusion that it didn’t make sense to stream if he couldn’t devote enough time to it. Jacksepticeye also admitted that he’s a people pleaser and would be annoyed by even one person in a live chat telling him they weren’t enjoying the stream, despite the fact that he’s been on YouTube for years and has a sizable audience.

Many Twitch streamers have also launched YouTube channels, but most of them—with a few notable exceptions—have become collections of the best moments from the Twitch streams. Given how much time they spend streaming, original content is rarely found there. They can effectively kill two birds with one stone, but for someone like Jacksepticeye who appears to be a YouTuber first and foremost, that might be challenging.
