Gurululz Is Banned & Unbanned

Zechariah “Gurululz,” a Twitch streamer and professional Overwatch player, was banned from the live streaming platform for one day and eight hours after he was caught watching Felix “xQc‘s” art on the popular subreddit r/place.

Gurululz’s fans and viewers were taken aback when he was temporarily banned from the platform while browsing a trending subreddit during one of his most recent livestreams.

Several Twitter users questioned Twitch’s transparency regarding the ban, citing a number of well-known streamers who were unaffected by the situation.

Guru was banned from the platform on April 4, 2022, according to the automated ban announcing account’s Twitter account. People on Twitter were baffled at first as to why their favorite streamer had been banned out of the blue.

Five minutes after the initial announcement, Guru himself tweeted. The Overwatch professional player’s initial reaction to the ban astounded fans. Some fans hoped for a quick return from the streamer and hoped that his return stream would be of exceptional quality.

When another Twitter user, GUARD Hunter (@HUN2R), posted some theoretical context to Guru’s ban, the topic began to gain traction. The Overwatch professional player was allegedly banned because he was briefly watching xQc’s stream while questionable art was being drawn on r/place.

He provided additional screenshots from xQc’s stream to demonstrate that Twitch took no action against the most popular Twitch streamer.

StreamerBans’ automated account notified fans on Twitter on April 5, 2022, that Guru had been unbanned one day, eight hours, and twenty-nine minutes after his initial ban, as many fans had speculated during their first interaction with the streamer.

Guru himself took to Twitter to express his joy at being unbanned from the platform. The return of their favorite first-person shooter streamer to the live-streaming platform delighted fans.

Overwatch player SamitoFPS expressed his dissatisfaction with the ban on streamers.

On April 6, 2022, the streamer returned to his main Twitch channel, where he live streamed for about two hours, during which he provided some additional details about his brief suspension from the platform.
