An In-Depth Look At GassyMexican’s Gaming Setup

gassymexican's gaming setup

GassyMexican has been creating YouTube content since September 2009 and formed part of the original Creatures soon after. He remained with them until November 2012 and established himself as a comedic expert with his co-sketches and voice impressions during that time. Although he still occasionally collaborates with the other Creatures members, he now usually teams up with members of The Late Shift.

Below we have provided a list of the equipment that forms part of GassyMexican’s gaming setup, in case you are interested in what he uses to provide the quality content to his viewers.

WHAT MOUSE DOES GASSYMEXICAN USE?

GassyMexican uses a Logitech G Pro wireless gaming mouse. The Logitech G Pro wireless mouse is among the most popular mice among streamers and is also used by streamers such as Danucd, Aceu, and UnknownxArmy. It is built with an ergonomic, ambidextrous design that is evident even in its optional macro buttons, as there are two sets of two that can be added to both or either side of the mouse. Other buttons include the clickers, scroll wheel, and a dpi button on its underside. This brings a potential for up to 8 programable buttons which can store up to five gaming profiles onboard.

As for the dpi, the Logitech G Pro wireless’ sensor was recently upgraded with a Hero 25K optical sensor which now provides a range to between 100 – 25,600 dpi that can be set in increments of 50. Its reports rate is at 1ms and it can track at speeds of up to 400ips.

All of these, as well as the RGB lighting, can be set through the Logitech G Hub software. Its battery can last up to 63 hours, but it can also be used while it is charging through either its 1.8m USB cable or via the Logitech G Powerplay mousepad. Its underside also has four 100% PTFE feet for added control. Its overall dimensions are 3.82 x 62.15 x 11.66cm (1.57 x 2.5 x 4.92”) and it weighs 79g (2.7oz.)

WHAT KEYBOARD DOES GASSYMEXICAN USE?

GassyMexican uses a Razer Blackwidow Chroma keyboard. The Razer Blackwidow Chroma is a ‘tactical and clicky’ keyboard that is constructed from plastic with a metal top mounting. Its Green mechanical switches are set with an actuation force of 50g, travel distance of 4mm and actuation point of 1,9mm. There is a silent orange switch option available on Razer’s official website.

There are extra five macro keys that are integrated into a column on the left of the keyboard. These, as well as the RGB lighting profiles can be set through the Razer Synapse software and include pre-set configurations for LOL, SC II, FPS, MOBA, MMO, RTS, Dota 2 and CS:GO, as well as various effects.

Its dimensions are 47.5 x 17.1 x 3.8cm (18.72 x 6.74 x 1.54”) with a weight of 1.5kg (3.31lbs.) It is compatible with Windows 7 or later and Mac OS v10.8 – 10.11.

WHAT HEADSET DOES GASSYMEXICAN USE?

GassyMexican uses Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones. GassyMexican’s gaming setup includes ATH-M50x headphones, which have a closed-backed, over-ear design to offer a surround-sound audio experience. They are set with 45mm drivers that provide a frequency response range of 15 – 28,000Hz with a nominal impedance of 38Ohms and a sensitivity of 98dB.

The earcups are cushioned with leatherette-covered padding. They can be rotated at 90° so as to lie flat around the user’s neck when not in use and they can also be folded inward for storage and transportation purposes.
The adjustable headband is also padded with leatherette cushioning and is designed to clamp firmly onto the head, which some owners find uncomfortable. However, both TimTheTatman and GiantWaffle are also ok with it, so it depends on the sensitivity of the user. It is fairly lightweight at 286g (10oz), thanks to its plastic construction.

Some of its extras include a detachable a detachable 1.2 m (3.9′) straight cable and a 1.2 m – 3.0 m (3.9′ – 9.8′) coiled cable, as well as a carry case that can store both cables in addition to the headphones.

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES GASSYMEXICAN USE?

GassyMexican uses a Shure SM7B microphone. The Shure SM7B is another popular piece of equipment among streamers. It has a large diaphragm design with a unidirectional polar pattern and offers a frequency response range of 50 – 20,000Hz, as well as a sensitivity of -50dB and a nominal impedance of 150Ohms. It also features an internal ‘air suspension’ shock isolation and pop-filter. The latter helps to isolate unwanted electrical interference while the latter prevents plosive sounds from filtering through into recordings.

There is also a high-press filter switch and boot button on its base further help to enhance the overall audio output quality. Although it runs on 48V of phantom power, it does not come with a cable, which means that the user will need to purchase both an XLR cable as well as a relevant audio interface to allow for the audio to register on the recording device. It does come with a captive stand nut and external windscreen, though.

WHAT WEBCAM DOES GASSYMEXICAN USE?

GassyMexican uses a Sony Alpha a7 II camera. The Sony Alpha a7 II is a mirrorless, 35mm full-frame camera with an E-mount design for compatible lenses. It can also record at an HD resolution (1280 x 720p) at a framerate of 120fps.

The optical zoom has three levels, while its hybrid autofocus system utilizes 117 phase-detection points and 25 contrast-detection points to increase subject-tracking performance and focusing speed. Its 3 LCD screen is tiltable by 7.62cm (3”) to assist with recording angles and lighting-changes. Furthermore, it is also compatible with Sony’s XLR Adaptor Microphone Kits (XLR-K1M and XLR-K2M), which means that professional microphones can be used when shooting IRL. Additionally, it can also connect with Wi-Fi and NFC so as to easily transfer recordings to mobile devices.

It has dimensions of 12.7 x 5.99 x 9.60 cm (5.00 x 2.36 x 3.78”) and weighs 598.74g (1.32lbs).
