Festival Series Premieres

With the successful introduction of the first event in The Festival Series, Acroud cemented its position as the link between land-based gaming and affiliation. The Festival Bratislava, a week-long event that took place at Banco Casino from September 20-26, was a huge success with spectators.

Martin von Zweigbergk says “I’m pleased that, despite a difficult year, we took the risk of launching a live event and succeeded. The amount of interest we’ve seen, as well as the players’ hunger, has been incredible!”

The first-of-its-kind mixed games format drew players from all around Europe, representing more than 25 different nations, as well as a big number of online viewers who watched the live streams with commentary.

The €550 buy-in Poker Main Event had 621 entrants on the second day, resulting in a guaranteed prize pool of 300.000 Euros, which was won by Martin Mauthner, a former EPT dealer from Austria, who took home €47,600.

JJ Hazan of the United Kingdom won the Pokerlistings Deepstack, while Ylva Thorsrud of the Norwegian scene won the Acroud Charity Tournament. Tommi Heimonen, a Twitch streamer, won the Roulette Championship, while Andreas Höglund of the Land Islands won the Blackjack title.

The festival aims to become a destination in itself for everyone, giving an all-round experience outside of the casino, in addition to introducing innovation to gaming festivals and encouraging inclusion among those more likely to play casino games.

The Festival Bratislava participants were able to explore and savor Slovakia’s capital by participating in a variety of extracurricular activities such as wine tasting, local cuisine dining experiences, a cabaret show, and sightseeing tours.

Banco Casino Bratislava, Casinoroom, Coolbet, Dal Negro Casino, Guts, Metal Casino, Paf, Pokio, Slots.io, SuperNopea, Uhmapelaajat, PokerNews, Pokerisivut, and Olybet appreciate their partners for their significant work and support with the introduction of The Festival Series.

The Festival Series will resume in 2022, with the dates for the next stops to be revealed later.
