Ethan Klein Sues Korean Media Company

YouTuber Ethan Klein said that he is suing a Korean media company after the company claimed copyright to a video of him reacting to a clip from his podcast that was featured on a Korean variety show.

After a clip from the H3H3 Podcast was featured on a Korean variety show, H3H3 is once again embroiled in legal battles over copyright issues.

Klein brought up the video during a podcast episode on December 13th, expressing gratitude for being featured on the show and joked that the H3 Podcast should expand internationally.

The good vibes ended there, as Klein claimed that a Korean media company named MBC had claimed copyright to the video after he used it in his podcast episode.

According to Klein, the problem stems from the show’s hosts reacting to his content, and he’s taking the matter to court and that he was able to re-upload his video, but only after removing a portion of the clip that had been claimed.

Klein’s comments follow another major YouTube copyright case involving YouTuber Totally Not Mark, an anime essayist and reviewer who recently had 150 of his videos taken down by anime company Toei Animation in a single day.

Mark eventually halted his efforts after a week of pleading with Toei, opting instead to unlist his previous videos discussing the takedowns, leaving both YouTube viewers and content creators frustrated and hoping for major changes on YouTube’s part regarding copyright claims.
