One of the most popular Minecraft content creators, Dream is experiencing backlash from critics after posting an “insensitive” tweet on Veterans Day, according to some.

Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11 in the United States. Living military veterans of the United States Armed Forces are honored on this federal holiday. In the United Kingdom, Canada, and other nations, this day is also known as Remembrance Day, which honors military veterans.

Many towns will come together to recognize and celebrate their local veterans on this day, while others will express their feelings through social media. However, one social media message, which came from the backup Twitter account of popular internet personality ‘Dream,’ drew some criticism.

Dream is a “faceless” YouTuber who is best known for his Minecraft content and has a large following. Dream, like other “faceless” personas like Corpse Husband, refuses to show his face online, unlike most influencers. On November 11, Dream joked about a fictional conflict that took place in his Minecraft server, dubbed the “First Great War” of the Dream SMP by fans. The fictitious country of ‘L’Manburg’ achieved independence from the Dream SMP in this conflict.

With a few flexing arm and heart emojis, he wrote on twitter; “Happy Veterans Day to everyone who fought in the L’manburg war. Your courage and bravery was unparalleled. God bless.”

While many followers laughed along with the joke, others were offended by Dream’s tweet, which they saw as disrespectful on a day dedicated to honoring actual war soldiers.

While Dream’s tweet has received some anger, it’s worth noting that a number of his fans have joined in on the joke, even photoshopping photos of other Minecraft YouTubers into old black and white photos.
