Daequan “Daequan” Loco and Darryle “Hamlinz” Hamlin, both former TSM members who joined the NRG, returned to the internet in August after a long hiatus. Their content house has closed down five months later, and their future with the organization is uncertain.
Daequan and Hamlinz were signed by NRG Esports after they left TSM. The organization pulled off a viral comeback to remember. Daequan and Hamlinz returned from their hiatus, revealing the $7 million USD NRG Thoom House, and everything seemed to be right with the world.
Daequan and Hamlinz unexpectedly withdrew from social media and content creation five months after the announcement. While Daequan has not spoken publicly about what happened, Hamlinz stated that the NRG Thoom House is no longer in operation.
After a few weeks of inactivity, Hamlinz returned to Twitch on January 13th. Critics flocked in droves, calling the content creator a con artist and other derogatory terms. Hamlinz streamed for eight hours before going offline until yesterday. Prior to that, he took to Twitter to explain his recent absence.
He went live on that account, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on. Hamlinz explained that the NRG Thoom House is no longer operational for a variety of reasons in a clip captured during the stream.
Hamlinz did not say whether he and Daequan had left NRG, but the two are presumably still employed by the company. The once-promising $7 million USD Thoom House, on the other hand, has fallen through.
Because Hamlinz and Daequan were instrumental in getting the Thoom House channel to 500K subscribers, it’s unclear where NRG will go next.
Fans may be curious as to what happened to Daequan. At this time, there is no response. He hasn’t tweeted or streamed since October, indicating that he’s taking a break. Fans will hopefully hear something soon. We’ll have to wait and see what happens in the future between the two content creators and NRG.
