CouRage Criticizes New World

In a series of tweets, Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop, co-owner of 100 Thieves and YouTube streaming superstar, has criticized New World‘s faction system.

While Amazon’s new MMORPG, New World, didn’t get off to the fast start that its creators had hoped for, Aeternum has become a home for some of the industry’s top streamers.

CouRage, co-owner of 100 Thieves and a streaming phenomenon, is one of them, and he looks to be wary of the title after receiving a 24-hour suspension following a series of mass reporting instances.

As he continues on his quest to uncover the island’s secrets, he’s criticized New World’s faction system for limiting how often players can wage war on one another, which is one of the game’s strongest features.

CouRage asks Amazon to modify the game’s faction system in a series of tweets dated October 19. Early on, players are required to pick between the Covenant, Mauraders, and Syndicate, and this decision determines who you can team up with for PvP missions. However, because Syndicate players account for the vast majority of people on his server, waging war as a minor side is extremely tough.

He wrote on Twitter, “Going to tweet everyday as a reminder until something is done about population and PvP quests. Not possible to force offensive wars when Syndicate has 4x our playerbase!”

When asked how he’d remedy the problem, fellow streamer Michael’sonii’ Sherman suggests stating; “maybe only a MAX of players can run PvP quests and it’s in an arena kinda like a fort. Our server is just Syndicate zerg each time.”

While the streamer enjoys his time in Aeternum, he clearly believes the game is far from perfect, calling offensive conflicts “literally impossible” due to both the monetary and manpower requirements.
