When playing Apex Legends, you can choose from 19 different characters, and Octane is the best choice for players who value speed. This Legend has the ability to move faster than the majority of the other Legends.
Now, a few players have figured out how to use Octane’s speed and the battle royale game’s sliding mechanic to fool your opponents during close-range combat.
In the Apex Legends subreddit, Reddit user vinkker pointed out this trick. It makes use of Octane’s Tactical ability Stim, which gives you a temporary speed boost in exchange for some health.
The speedster’s walking speed is increased to the point where he can begin sliding without having to run after using the Stim. This also means you’ll be able to slide while aiming down sights.
This trick, however, only works with Pistols and Shotguns, according to the Redditor. “I checked to see if it worked on SMG but it doesn’t,” vinkker wrote. They did say, however, that the trick is “extremely good for 1v1s.”
Many other users praised this trick, but some users noted that it is difficult to master if you aren’t used to sliding and shooting at the same time. “Yes, and I despise it,” one commenter said. “I miss all my shots because of it.”
